Barber: Anderson Attended Production meeting

Cam will play. May not start, but he'll play. It'll take 2 bad drives. If Anderson starts and can't move the ball, Cam will be the spark they turn to. Mark it down.

i'd be surprised if he even suits up if he doesnt start.  if he is healthy enough to play, he will start, not be the #2 option.

Did you not see how awful Rodgers looked against Seattle? Yes, grant it its Seattle at Seattle, but there is no doubt Rodgers looked rusty as fug due to injury and that was even with WRs that he has worked with for years.

Mark my words, Cam would look worse than Rodgers did if he plays in this current situation

You are delusional.

Throughout his career, DA has had a penchant for turning the ball over. Cam on the other hand, does not. The easiest way to give a win to Tampa is to turn the ball over. So no, I don't like your plan. At all.

Then count me in with the blind people.

DA does not give us our best chance to win. He's a backup. He's a backup on probably 28 to 30 teams in the NFL. On the other hand, the guy you want him to replace is a top ten QB. Let's also not ignore the fact that DA is coming off his own injury, one to the hand he throws the ball with.

DA may start, but don't try to convince anyone that he gives us our best chance to win.

what if cam plays and gets hurt worse. is it worth going 1-0 to you and having to play anderson for multiple games? because it's not to me. i'd rather be 0-1 maybe 1-0 and get a healthy cam for the rest of the year.

This isn't like muscle or ligament damage. It is a question of pain management. He is not going to aggravate the injury by playing, although I'm sure he's going to hurt like hell on Monday.

Could he take another blow to the ribs? Sure. That could happen tomorrow or 3 months from now. Just as any other part of his body could get injured on any given play.

yeah he could get hit by a bus 10 years from now but we're talking about this injury and this game. i wouldn't risk his health for the remainder of the season to beat the lowly bucs in the 1st game of the season. but that's just my opinion of course. if he plays i'm sure he'll be ready to do so. if he can't go i have confidence in DA

I wish you folks would quit thinking Cam will be all better next week. Damm.

His ribs are going to hurt for quite a while. Weeks and weeks. Are we supposed to wait until then for him to play?

If he can go, he will. If he can't, he won't. But just quit thinking he is going to heal all of a sudden if he takes this week off.

if his injury results in losses than yes

I think they will start Cam but had DA at that meeting because of the possibility of Cam being unable to finish the game. .

I think this is spot on. I would be shocked if Cam didn't start and was inactive. I don't expect Cam to come out of the game, but I wouldn't be shocked if he did have to.

Well then. If you have a way to know what is going to happen if he plays, then by all means...

He could play and not show any bad signs. Yea.

Or he can play and look sluggish. Nay.

He could play for weeks, or even the whole season, with no ill effects.

Or he could be knocked out by the first hit he takes.

Point being. If he can go, he plays. If he can't go, he won't. Cam is not the first QB to have a go with bad ribs.
