Thats fine and good, but the point of a zone is that you pickup the man that comes into your zone. Godfrey did not.

Exactly. So do people think Godfrey thought "Oh gee White didn't bump him. I'm just going to let him go free so that he takes all the blame and learns from his mistake"? No. If a player comes into your zone, you cover him. Not just jog towards him ever so slowly or just stand in place.

There were multiple people in Godfrey's zone.  He can't cover them all.  If he had shifted over to Obamawu or whatever his name is, the other guy woulda caught the TD and nothing would be different.

Can we blame Bryon Bell? Nope. But I will say if he gives up a sack then he is back in the worst LT in football conversation.

sounds like the bucs just had the perfect play called for the cover 2 the panthers were in.the CB has to get hands on the WR and funnel him inside, to give the safety time to play the route over top. but if their is a double twins set to the cover 2, and both run vertical routes, that safety is put in position to make a very difficult play. 

 

 

again, if the slot guy and wide out, both runs vertical routes the safety has to split the two guys and just try to make a helleva play.if he jumps one, he made the read for the QB, and he will have a easy completion.

OK fine, but explain why we have to go through this song and dance so often with the same player?  It seems every blown coverage has Godfrey somewhere in the picture.  It may not all be his fault but we can all agree that he isn't good enough to make up for any type of on-field mistake.

There were two men in his zone.  His job was to cover the seem and if there was a jam at the line he would have time to recover to the sideline on a deep pass.
