Are we overlooking the Steelers?

I agree with that. Are you expecting a blowout then?

If I had to put money on a close game or a Panthers blowout I would put it on a Panthers blowout. That being said the coaching staff is Fox like in keeping it close.

So yes I expect a solid Panthers win. And my Steelers neighbor just hung his head yesterday saying he fully expects the Panthers to demolish them. Anything can happen. I went to the mall with my wife because VT was just playing ECU and I fully expected the Hokies to handle them... Oops.

So anything can happen. But yeah Panthers blow out.

Historically the Panthers have not handled success well.

They have done better when caste as the underdog.

This game will be another data point helping determine whether the team is transitioning from an also ran to perennial favorite.

Given we have won 15 out of our last 16 games, I would suggest we are handling success pretty well. We can't help if the village idiots haven't figured it out yet. I don't think we go into games thinking we are underdogs. Players prepare all week and have a gameplan they practiced all week. They go into the game thinking they are going to win and are the favorite in their mind. Being cast as an underdog just makes it even more satisfying when they actually do win. Or like the A team always said, they love when a plan comes together.

11 of 14 ESPN analysts are picking us to beat the Steelers. The Huddle and the fan base as a whole has already penciled in a W; I don't even see a single thread about the Steelers game that's been posted.

Is that wise? The Steelers will have had 10 days to prepare and the Panthers generally aren't that hot in primetime. We haven't beaten the Steelers since 1996. Roethlisberger is a perfect quarterback to take advantage of no Hardy by rolling to Addison/Horton/Ealy's side when Hardy would have been able to contain him.

I think the Panthers will win too, but I don't think this is a done deal by any stretch of the imagination. I like the Panthers in a 20-14 sort of game.

Thoughts?

We are now in the Rivera era............things are a changing.

Some of us are just scared to admit that we are good. We are always worried about that other shoe that is about to drop.

Having said that Pittsburgh (as well as nearly every NFL team), has the ability to beat us and it will take our best effort to heat them.

I envision a low scoring game coming up, Steelers had extra rest, and they are going to be hungry after their last poor performance.
