How long is the Huddle gonna defend Shula?

When you underperform in this offense, it looks atrocious because Shula tries so damn hard to be so damn "methodical"

Terrible OL play, playcalling, play design, and overall execution as a team on both sides of the ball. Undisciplined team and we were vastly outcoached by Ole' Dicky LaBleau

I don't think we were outcoached I just think we were outplayed and shot ourselves in the foot with penalties on both sides of the ball and two crucial turnovers.

If you count the pass interferences, how many points did we give up just on penalties and turnovers alone?

Then couple that with a bad day by the defense, and you have a crappy game.

If those things become a trend we may be in trouble, but we have been so good at those things for 20+ games I am going to chalk it up to an anomaly until proven otherwise

The huddle Defends Shula?  Are we reading the same forum?  The guy gets blasted more than Byron Bell, Armanti Edwards, and Everette Brown combined.  Not saying he doesn't deserve to get blasted, just for every Shula defender, there's about 10 people wanting him executed by firing squad.

You reading the same forum.

Its about 50/50

Cant tell you how many times someone brings up TOP, efficiency, poor OL, no playmakers, etc etc

Oline and Shula are bad. Oline doesnt make shula look bad. They're independent. You fix both. If something isn't working, Shua continues doing it. If something is working, Shula doesn't do it enough. We're settling here with him as OC. We hit a brick wall and instead of finding ways around it, we're content with not even trying to go through it. We don't have an all-time great defense. We have a very good one, but not one to simply rely on to win the SB. So fix the fuging offense

QFT!

The problem is our offense isn't built to win us any games. It's built to move the chains and control the clock. It's built to capitalize on the defense giving it opportunities. It was really the same offense we saw last week, but the defense wasn't the same and it showed on offense.

Shula needs to learn how to be different and change his style of play calling in every game. We went no huddle way to late in the game and when it was working, he went back to his conservative play book. He needs to understand every WR don't got to run the same route 10 yards plus down the field. He can call bootlegs and screens that don't take long to develop also. He loves to go deep with the wrong WR also. He needs to stop running the ball up the middle so much. Shula is to predictable.

Last weeks Offense and this game offense had some similarities but it wasn't the same. Shula ran a lot more short routes last week plus more no huddle. Last week was more up tempo. This game was super slow Shula ball. Is it me or do it seem like Cam never has a check down man.

    • I think we pick it up and then someone else ends up emerging as the QB next year and we end up cutting him in year 5 and eating it.  That would be the most on brand thing to happen.
    • Evero has his faults, but even in that loss, the team only gave up 20 points. Your post gets to the heart of the matter. We are not a talented team on defense at this time. Some of our younger guys may develop w/more playing time, but for now we have no impact players at LB or EDGE. We could really use a ball-hawking S on the back end as well. We have exactly two players that have to be accounted for on every play, D. Brown, and J.Horn. Mike Jackson has been solid. The other starters would probably be backups on most the upper echelon NFL teams. We really can't expect this team to a Top 10 defense with such a lack of talent. All things considered I've been somewhat impressed with how much better they have played this year.   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-points-per-game   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-average-team-passer-rating We are in the top 15 in terms of points allowed per game (22.6) and top 12 in defensive passer rating (88.9). And, we are doing this without a formidable PASS RUSH. Even our rushing defense has improved. We are #16 in rushing yards allowed per game (116) compared to 179 per game last season. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-rushing-yards-per-game I wouldn't cry if Evero moved on after the season, but his defense isn't the biggest worry for our team.
    • The funny part is she looks older and not in a good way...
