DeAngelo: Sprained Ankle, "week-to-week", doubtful vs CHI

This concerns me just as much for the passing game protection as it does for the running game.

We already didn't have much of a running game more due to the O line than anything... but with DWill out and some unknown in at RB, I fear for Cam because we'll have to pass more and will be relying on who knows who to pick up blitzes.

Fug it. Abandon the run till guys get healthy.

Only run to keep teams honest. Instead of running throw bubbles and and into the flats to get 3 or 4 yards.

Running the ball with pooty RBs and a pooty o line will have pooty results

This is about the only shot the Panthers have.

Spread out the field, put Cam in shotgun and use the pass to set up draw plays.

Unfortunately I don't think Shula has any creativity to bring to the table.

as much as it would hurt the team salary cap wise, I think carolina should just cut either dwill or jstew or both.  Watching them collect pay checks to ride excercise bikes I'm sure pisses off many in that locker room that go out and leave it all on the field every day.  I'd send a msg to the team.  You want to be a panther, your ass better find a way to be on that field.

I hope we get a running back via freeagency, reaves cant cut it , we'll if shula would maybe give him some zones and stretches he can prob get some good yardage but running up the middle with a tiny runningback 20 times a game for 15 yards aint gunna win us games. Another thing howcome we kept running up the middle when we were loosing

essentially we've already abandoned the run... the line has no push no protection and they are beatdown nearly each play. that's why the backfield is hurt or hurting.

What's worse than having a ton of money tied up in two RBs?

Having both of those RBs be hurt

they are made of glass and its the same thing every year.  How much does the team and the fans have to endure before these two guys are sent packing.  Go collect checks some where else.  Igo is around that locker room, I would love to see if he has any insight on how the rest of the team feels about their 2 over payed fragile rb's.

    • Cooter, Kurb, others have passed on to glory….  Praise be.
    • Oh good for them! Hope this is the start of a long happy time in their lives here.
    • There was no reason to believe in either Cam or Jake as a top tier elite QB before those seasons either. Cam was an "athletic" QB in most people's minds and his passing skills were open for debate. And there was a bit to that as he was still trying to get that massive power in his arm tamed to be able to put some touch on his passes. And then, he did it. Missiles became bombs, the firing lanes became points of finesse. Cam grew up and leveled up, while still retaining the ability and drive to truck people whenever he wanted. And Jake... no one freaking believed in Jake except Jake himself. He got, and let's be honest with this, one chance in a losing game to make something out of his career. And he rose to the occasion like some kind of mythical hero and continued to do so for the season. He became a true leader for the team, and his gunslinger capabilities rehabbed Moose's career and created Smitty as a force in the league. Smitty went from a barker to a biter. But no one believed in Jake going in. And they trashed him on his way out. Now Bryce... who knows? I've seen some improvement. Maybe he finds his footing. His teammates seem to love and respect him and that means a lot. The game should be moving at his speed now. He has weapons available to him and maybe a defense that doesn't just roll over by the third quarter. And his coach seems to be moving this team in the right direction. Could he do it? It's up to him, if he can find the magic like Jake and Cam did. But don't doubt this, magic is really, really hard to find.
