Some owners aren't very happy about the way the 'exempt list' is being used.  They believe it's essentially giving teams like the Panthers and Vikings an extra roster spot,  Whereas the Ravens, for example, had to cut Ray Rice.

 

If the owners do indeed force the commissioner to drop the exemptions for Peterson and Hardy, then technically either the League would have to suspend them or it would be left up to the teams what to do.

 

If it's option two, then I think yes, the Panthers do indeed bring Greg Hardy back.

 

I wasn't aware the league had the authority to cut anyone. I believe the Ravens made the decision to cut him without any input from the league. Under the CBA, the league is limited with respect to the amount of time a player can be suspended, which is why the "Exempt List" came into being to begin with.

At this point, this is how it should be.  No matter what, even if convicted Hardy would get six games.  You can't bring him back now or sooner  because then the story is "its because the Panthers need someone and don't care about......" ; whereas after six games Panthers can bring him back and leave it as "that is what he would be getting anyway.."

 

And even if he is found not guilty, he will have hopefully learned to not kick it with these types of females.  Hell if he is going to be a Panther, I hope he learns something.

They don't, but had the League offered to let the Ravens use the 'exempt list' they might have taken it (or at least liked the opportunity).

 

From what I've read, I suspect Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti might be one of the guys who's complaining.

There'd be a decent amount of dead money in 2015, but after that it's not bad.

If we could make Hardy's first year cap hit modest (2015), it wouldn't be difficult at all to have both on the roster or to cut CJ.

This NFL exemption involving court cases,should only be applied to players during which time they are required to be in court.alot like a juror being absentee from work.

It's amazing that Hardy is convicted until it comes down to him playing then he's not convicted
