What happens if one of our tackles get injured?

LT Byron Bell not in pads today. He seemed to hurt his right foot during the game.

Bell is not in pads today at practice and it got me to thinking about his backup (and Chandlers for that matter).  It's David Foucault.  The rookie from Canada. Gary Williams was the other backup but he's out injured.

I'm one of those guys who thinks Bell and Chandler can get the job done.  Not elite by any stretch but they can hold down the fort as they say.

But, good lord, if one of them gets hurt and can't play WTF do we do?  I don't even seen any Tackles on the practice squad.  Just Dennis Dixon at guard.

And please try to answer with something besides, "Kiss our ass goodbye" or "Start planning Cam's funeral".  Actually, you can answer with something like that.  Better to laugh at this then cry.

I mentioned in the game day thread I saw Byron on the ground grabbing his foot.

I doubt they would put Foucault in there, but who knows. Probably slide chandler to the left and maybe put Garry Williams (or is he ired?) at right

Pretty sure WIlliams is on IR again.

Agree that Chandler probably slides and RT gets backfilled.

Garry Williams - Placed on injured reserve with an injured back (9/27/14)

So we've got Faucault and that's it.  While I like Faucault, that is scary.

I would think they'd at least have someone on the practice squad.  Can any of our guards or other backup linemen play tackle in a pinch?

To answer the question of the thread--we improve at tackle.

jk

There's a few different things we could try.  Zod mentioned the likely.  Chandler to LT, Foucault to RT...or maybe Norwell at LT? haha

Hell maybe shift Amini over--so we have: Amini-Velasco-Kalil-Turner-Chandler.  It can't get worse than it's been this season...can it?

    • PFF made it up just to make Bryce look better. Crazy right? Also I can’t believe you said he played “better.” Careful and you might let a compliment slip…. (kidding)
    • re: PFF having Bryce Young as the best deep passer in week 12 Link to original article Excerpt from the article: PFF's passing-by-depth report for week 12 NFL Pro's Film Room Play 1 - Completion to XL running a deep crosser despite multiple penalties by KC on the play Film Room Playlist NFL Pro.mp4 Play 2 - Completion to JT with the pass rush closing in Film Room Playlist NFL Pro-01.mp4 Play 3 - Hits David Moore in the hands while taking a shot from new Panthers' DL Ter'shawn Wharton for what would've been a TD Film Room Playlist NFL Pro-02.mp4 Play 4 - This is the first play that folks could attempt to pin on Bryce if not for one detail... this was 3rd & 10 with 9sec left in Q2 (as seen in the screenshot showing the list of plays). Bryce had to air mail it out of the back of the end zone so that there was still time to attempt a field goal before halftime. I've included the other angle as I was confident that some would try to hyperfocus on this play as why PFF was wrong in their evaluation.
