From Aaron Wilson...

Panthers worked out Harvey Unga, Doug Worthington, Michael Brooks, Richard Clebert, Justice Cunningham, Maurice Hagens

Unga's a decent fullback that used to be with the Bears and Jags (I think he scored on us once).  Hagens is a 250 pound back that was previously with the Falcons.  Makes me think we might want someone to temporarily fill Tolbert's role (or at least be a healthy runningback).

Cunningham's a tight end who went to South Carolina.  The rest - Worthington, Brooks and Clebert - are all defensive linemen (Brooks went to East Carolina).

Also of note: Former Panthers safety Anderson Russell tried out for the Bucs.

No OL on the list.  Have to admit I find that surprising.

Sometimes I think Gettleman is trolling us by not at least trying out an offensive tackle

I think Getts has the (imo correct) philosophy that an O-line can only be good as a unit when there's continuity amongst the individuals. So if you keep unplugging and plugging various people in the O-line then they will never gel and be effective even if one player might be better individually.

Im as frustrated as anyone with our inept o-line but i know what it takes to get it moving in the right direction (as annoying as it is).

Yes, but we have only three tackles. Gary Williams went to IR and was never replaced. I think it's reasonable to expect an OL to be signed to replace him

    • It's definitely a historical issue at QB but to be perfectly blunt, we also don't do a good job of really developing almost any position if you look at the last decade or so. I tend to be on the side of that being far less a development issue than an evaluation deficiency.  I think we are in the situation at QB2/3 recently due to the overall roster being absolutely abhorrent and the QB classes being quite thin. It is harder to justify another Matt Corral(or several) when you can potentially get a real two deep contributor at other positions.  But, it was a lot of hard work to get to the point where are roster is so incredibly bad that luxury picks literally are not in our vocabulary.  This is the reaping what you sow portion of our history.
    • That is what I meant about our front office. They are like someone filling out a March Madness bracket based on preference of uniform colors and mascots. There's no rhyme of reason to some of these fugg'n mind numbing decisions they make.  They go all in on these flimsy-@ss prospects and are gun shy when it comes to more solid prospects.  It's literally maddening and the reason I stopped being so emotionally involved in this team. Heck the only reason I'm active on the board today is one, it's my day off and two, it's cut down time.
