Looking at that, who do you think will suck the least to win the division? I think we do finish 8-7-1, New Orleans 8-8, Atlanta 5-11. That Nugent missed field goal last week could end up letting us squeak in.

The way CIN is playing, I will not be surprised if the Saints beat them.

It's foolish to eliminate the Bucs from contention. We are only 2.5 games ahead of them. Are they a dumpster fire? Sure, but we all are at this point.

I started tracking something last week. The premise is we win every division game and lose every non division game. That guarantees the Falcons and Saints +2 losses, and the Bucs+1. It guarantees us 8 wins. We are quickly approaching a threshold where sweeping the division locks us in.

3-3-1 Panthers sweep division: 8-7-1

2-4 Saints     10-6   best possible

2-5 Falcons    9-7   best possible

1-5 Bucs       10-6   best possible

Now this doesn't mean anything. We could easily lose to the Saints and Falcons twice each and be out of it. We could also split and pick off teams like the Vikings and Browns. Meanwhile the Saints, Falcons, and Bucs can hurt each others chances or lose out of division match ups. Nothing is even close to decided.

We're going to have a tough time splitting with ATL and NO. If we do and get a little lucky versus CLE, I think we can make it to 8 wins.

Edit: 2 of our next 3 look like bad losses. I'm hoping we don't completely check out and can finish strong. Just please make it to 8 wins. Get that monkey off our back.

    • Joe Person @josephperson · 1h Corey Thornton with nice breakup at the goal line on a pass intended for JT Sanders. The undrafted rookie from Louisville has had a nice start to camp. Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 1h Pretty sure it would have been a hold in a game but Corey Thornton smothered JT Sanders for a pass breakup in 11s off a throw from 9.    Kassidy Hill @KassidyGHill · 59m Dave Canales opens his press conference sending  thoughts to those in NYC affected by the shooting last night.   Darin Gantt @daringantt · 1h Chandler Zavala suffered a knee injury Monday, described him as week to week.   Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 1h G Chandler Zavala (knee) is week to week with a patella injury. • https://x.com/PanthersAnalyst/status/1950209602680746000   Edgar Salmingo, Jr. ✌🏽 @PanthersAnalyst · 1h #Panthers sign Ja'seem Reed, one of 3 WRs who tried out yesterday Interesting choice to cut Dan Chisena. Not the worst WR on the roster, same with Amare Barno for the EDGEs Seems like they're releasing bubble guys early instead of waiting until cut day so  other guys get a shot   Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 1h Austin Corbett anchors very well at center and Andy Dalton zooms the ball over the middle to Jimmy Horn on a deep cross for a TD in 11s. Shemar Bartholomew with a pick on Bryce Young on the next play.    Gabe McDonald @GabeMcDonald_ · 1h #Panthers CB Shemar Bartholomew with a solid day so far. Had a PBU on the first series of the second period of 11 on 11 and just started the third series with an INT on a Bryce Young pass.   Joe Person @josephperson · 1h Matthew Wright was 3-5. Last one clanged off the right upright.    Edgar Salmingo, Jr. ✌🏽 @PanthersAnalyst · 1h Looks like it was the passing focused 11 on 11 session Hunter Renfrow and Jimmy Horn, Jr., made big plays again   have a day Shemar Joe Person @josephperson · 1h Bryce Young airs one out to Jalen Coker. Tight coverage by Shemar Bartholomew. Coker couldn’t come down with it. 11v11
