Looking at the team and the roster moves Gettleman made during the off season. Does anyone else think it is a little too convenient that in a contract year for Cam he is protected by 4 undrafted FAs and has a new and arguably mediocre WR group.

Now usually I think the majority of conspiracy theories are stupid and created by bored people with nothing better to do (admittedly I could fit into this category). However given are cap situation, could Gettleman be playing the long game and hoping to drive Cam's asking price down?

I understand your suspicion but I cant imagine he would be stupid enough to sacrifice an entire season, perhaps end Cams career, and make himself look like a fuggin moron just to save a couple million a year at some point in the future.  I think this is entirely a result of incompetence, pooey talent evaluation and mismanagement at the coaching and GM level.  I would probably feel better if they were actually sucking ass on purpose but I'm afraid it just because they don't know what the fug they are doing.

If this was true that would be the first time in 11 years (I'm 18 and started watching when I was 7) I've legitimately not wanted to be a fan of this team.  Don't think there's any truth here though, there can't be.

considering cam could just walk away from any contract offer the panthers dish up and get promised the moon by really any other suitor i really doubt it
