So... anybody here still think Ron will eventually lead us to a Super Bowl?

Honestly, no.  I really don't think we will as long as Richardson is running the show.  We seem to field the same kind of team year in and year out, play hard 3 and a half quarters then give up the game at the end because we're playing not to lose.

NFL. Talent > Coaching.

So if they give him talent.....sure. If they give him HUGE HOLES at key positions....probably not.

We have the talent to win. Case in point is Sunday. We outplayed SEA. They beat us with just Lynch and no name pass catchers. And even Lynch was bottled up most of the game.

Did the Seahawks win the Superbowl because they had better coaching than the Broncos? No. Coaching is important, but talent comes first.

I think that he could with more talent, but nobody could lead this team to a Superbowl without legitimate tackles, competent secondary and Hardy.

I remember reading the Giants forums the year they won the Superbowl.  They were saying the same things about Coughlin.   Winning the Superbowl happens 2 ways.  Either you have so much talent you can't possibly F&^&^ it up,  or you're a good team that got hot at the right time.

So do I think if we get hot at the right time that we could win the SB with Rivera coaching?  yes.

Well there is also the truth of the matter that Pete Carroll happens to be a much better head coach right now, there really is no debate.

I like Ron, but I'm not going to lie to myself.

    • People really need to stop placing Dan Morgan on some kind of infallible pedestal. He is absolutely in lockstop with Tepper regarding Bryce and has been all along. As far as the team being okay with 185 passing yards per game. We better have a proven monster RB in our backfield then. Presently that guy is not on the roster. Chuba has one outlier season so far and the other guys have proven nothing. Not what you would call a great recipe. The only thing we can hope at this juncture is that the highest paid OL in the league for the second year in a row elevates their play from last season and opens up some massive holes even our RB's can get through. But it still doesn't resolve the issue of predictability. With no viable passing game it is much easier to shut down any run game. No defenses are scared of Bryce's arm. It is what it is.
    • i lived in Atlanta from 84'to 92' & back then it was indeed a very different time without the internet & access to information 24/7. shortly after i moved back home to western NC around 93' or 94' the Carolina Panthers were awarded an NfL franchise & began their inaugural season in 95' so ike you i have seen the Carolina Panthers, ,the NFL ,technology, fans all evolve over the many a moon & years now some for the better & others not so ...just saying
    • I wouldn't even bet on us winning the NFC South. All four teams had excellent Drafts.
