CBS Sports Mock Draft

haha beginning of november and we're talking draft. what can i say its great to be a panthers fan

I would take Amari Cooper, guy is going to be a top tier receiver in this league and has the speed this offense desperately needs. Then draft Flowers in round two.

When it comes to OTs right now it's Scherff and nobody else. Shenanigans with my avatar aside.

Yup. Ogbuehi is falling, La'el looks like a Guard to me, and Scherff will probably the top OT.

I don't think we're going to be able to get an OT in the 1st round that we'll really like.

Right now, I would go with BPA and that's Amari or Gurley. Two guys who when we look back 3 yrs from now won't disappoint us.

We definitely need a rebuilt offensive line. Personally I think we need to go after a good free agent at LT though. Maybe pick a RT up in the draft. However...the A&M tackles worry me. Joekel has been a flat out bust and Matthews hasn't been impressive either. So who knows which way you go with that pick but if it's a top 10 pick it better be an impact player.

Agree!

Gman needs to convince Michael Roos to sign here even if it's just a year. He's no longer a future with the Titans.

We could get Ogbuehi in the middle of the draft and he's shown he can play RT. I could live taking my chances with Ogbuehi at the right side.

Roos - Norwell - Kalil - Turner - Ogbuehi

I think these A&M OTs made a living off Johnny Football.

Wouldnt it be better to draft someone who could eventually move to LT since Roos is old and coming off injury. we would be back in the same position if he doesn't pan out and Ogbuehi isn't looking like a LT

It maybe too early to tell but I wonder who is the better player, Peat or Scherff?

Also some other promising OTs could be found in the second round from LSU, Florida state and Miami. I see no reason why we won't draft at least one if not two tackles in the first 3 rounds of the draft.

Scherff is generally considered safer, even though I cringe to use that word. Peat with more upside.

Two positions we are in need of drafting in the first round. One or the other. CB or OT. Vice Versa. If there is no OT worth taking in the first round. We need to draft a top CB with the first pick. We need a starting CB bad. Bene is best at nickel and so far Josh Norman is finally coming into his own. But we need another top corner to give us help in the seconday. The ones we have now are old and trash. Bottom line.

Safety above cornerback. We haven't had a GREAT safety since Minter.

this doesn't answer the question. You asked me who i thought the young wr with potential were. Unless that is someone's name and i don't know about it, this is a "wrong answer"

Let me clear this up for you then. All our young wr besides KB should be on practice squads for the rest of there careers.

In essence don't get your hopes up. We need wr more than cb. We've seen our fully intact front 7 mask cb before. There is no masking sorry wide receivers

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
