Just a grrrrrrrrrrrreat time to be a QB. All the rules are in your favor and the refs protect you to the max. Even if you in the third tier of rankings or just "average", teams will happily give you around 20 mill per.

People forget cams contract has been one of best bargins in the last ten years. Sad once the panthers get out of cap hell, they will be right back in....... not hell but no room to add outside help. If you dig up any old cam contract threads, you'll find many posters believing cam would get around 15 mill.....funny then funny now. As I said then it wouldn't surprise me to see 25 mill per without the fake fluff in kap/dalton deals. At the very least the first number will be a 2. Buzz cook doesn't play, the cap is going up fast, and you either have as franchise(or average) QB or doing everything to find/PAY one.

Don't see how Cam is any better than an old Palmer. Palmer is actually playing pretty damn well tho.

Well, they're a lot better than us this year and he does have two Super Bowl rings as an owner.

 

Us Panthers fans really can't be too cocky and look down on other franchises.  Just about every franchise in the league has had more historic success than ours has.  That's just the cold hard truth.

 

He's also built the Cowboys into easily the most valuable franchise in the league and clearly actually gives a fug about whether or not his team wins.  Some of his decisions are questionable at best, but the man does try his damnedest to field a winning team.  I'm honestly not sure if I can say the same for JR.

 

Well said it, really is funny to me how certain fans trash other teams and we dont have half to success they do outside of beating them in a regular season game. Much as i dont care for Jerry Jones he is a better owner than JR, he screws up a lot but at least his fan base knows he really does care about winning.

The Cardinal will likely build in contractual protection in case Palmer is injured or nose  dives,so it's not like they re throwing caution to he wind with this contract.

The guy has missed 22 games in 11 seasons, with 12 of those in one season.

He's locked up for 2015, that's it. It's basically a $16M per year deal with no guaranteed money beyond 2015 and options for the each of the last 2 years.

The Cardinals, I believe, are one of the teams in play to make a run at Cam Newton should he decide to listen to offers. Which imho, he would be dumb not to do.
