Want Shula gone? Don't look for Rivera to do it...

What do they say about history again?

The Bucs did not score a touchdown in an 11-6 loss to the eventual Super Bowl champion Rams in the NFC title game Jan. 23 -- the fifth game in which they failed to reach the end zone last season.

Earlier Wednesday, Dungy said he hoped the impasse he, general manager Rich McKay and ownership had reached could be resolved and his entire staff would be signed for the 2000 season.

"That would be my hope, but it's out of my hands," Dungy said. "Truly out of my hands."

After a conference call involving Dungy, Bucs vice presidents Brian and Joel Glazer and McKay Wednesday evening, Dungy notified Shula that he would not be given a new contract. Apparently, ownership and McKay insisted Shula not return next season

Rivera doesn't have the balls to do it. It's the reason they indicated today that there will be no staff changes. If this offense and team continues to not make any progress at the end of the season Rivera needs to be let go and the rest of his incompetent staff. I think the writing is on the wall and Rivera is to naive to see it. So if things don't change ASAP him and his riverboat will sink.

    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
