RE: Anti-Cam Douchenozzles

uh oh here comes the homer squad. If you need to cry I'll leave the thread to give you some privacy. He's regressed and isn't worth a big contract. Great quarterbacks find ways to win. There's a reason he only has the ability to call audibles on 30% of the plays. It's because he lacks the aptitude to audible out of the other 70%. He's an outstanding athlete and an above average QB that won't take us very far unless he starts improving. He needs to learn to read defenses and most importantly needs to start hitting open receivers. That means getting his footwork in line. He's not perfect like many of you seem to believe.

Inb4 he has no talent around him. Other excuses etc.

Alright Cam detractors, it's time to put on your nippleshorts and loosen up your armchair GM keyboard fingers. Especially you, Dex. You specifically stated great QB's win games and there are no excuses for Cam. I'm all ears, explain this for us "homer squad" idiots.

1)

Pick an elite QB of your choice:

Peyton Manning

Tom Brady

Drew Brees

2)

Around mid-April, cut open his left ankle and stretch the ligaments around. Then sit him out the entire offseason as he recovers from major surgery.

3)

Around the 3rd preseason game, take a baseball bat & beat him in the back and/or chest until you crack a few ribs under his throwing arm.

4)

Give him Mike Shula as an OC & playcaller.

5)

Protect his blindside with Byron Bell.

6)

Round out his OL with the following:

LG: Revolving door of D2 & FA Guards

RG: Canadian League washouts

RT: Undrafted DT & Practice Squad castaways

7)

Give him the following WR weapons:

WR #1: very gifted, yet very raw rookie

WR #2: Jerricho Cotchery

WR #3: undrafted rookies

8)

Give him the 29th ranked scoring defense.

9)

Throw him under center week 2.

10)

Win games.

No excuses.

I don't understand why this whole forum is ready to fire everyone, from JR all the way down to the guy that hoists the net on field goals, and everybody says "HELL YEAH!!". But if somebody simply critiques a part of Newtons game, or talks about his upcoming contract, it becomes so toxic. I really don't understand!

It's been the same way with DG as well as Cam..

And if Luke or TD came under fire it would be the same thing..

Philip did suck for a long period there too..

And you think chargers fans we're making all these excuses for him when he did?

I just don't understand why cam is so beyond criticism for some people. No sane fan is calling for him to be cut (not counting Monday morning hangovers) but when you call out some of the individual mistakes he makes, the homers throw this crap at you.

    • Well, they're both in the same league (if you will). During preseason, Fitz went 3/3 & Sauls went 5/6, but of course Sauls was 4/4 last night (including one 50+). Both were Lou Groza Award finalists. I believe Fitz made two 55+ yarders last season, while Sauls led the nation with three. Fitz was 13/13 (💯) while Sauls was 21/24 (87.5). Fitz was a 3rd-Team AP All-American, while Sauls was a PFF All-American.  Career-wise, Fitz was 58/74 (78.4), while Sauls was 52/64 (81.3). I wish that I could see the attempts and knew the depth of yardage. I wish that we could compare practice kicks during their training camps, but we can't. Maybe someone with a PFF/CFF account can give that Basically it's just a matter of belief I guess. Seeing dude knock down four FGs and go perfect during a pressure-filled game for him is damned impressive if you ask me. I don't believe that Fitzgerald could do that.  That being said, I'd have to know more. I will say that it may be worth mentioning that we seem to like PFF this year and Sauls being a PFF All-American may be notable. Now that being said, the Panthers may not be even considering Sauls.
    • Ive said it 1000x times on here.  Our 2025 season will be dictated by the first 4 games.  poo the bed there and lose all confidence and momentum, we win 5 games maybe.  Go 2-2, 3-1 we got a look at 7/8 wins
    • I basically made almost the exact predictions on a phone call with a buddy about 3 weeks ago. I really do expect Evero gone before the seasons end, Young to just not able to get over the hump enough and DC to head into next season on a VERY hot seat.
