Holy poo.  Talk about some tight ass paper bag-wearing conspiracy theorists... lmao this thread here is just gold and all the more satisfying after an ass-whooping like today.  We beat em so bad they can't explain or make sense of wtf just happened.

Serious question, I know we are low on talent on this team. I get that, but I've seen so many games this season where the team that is talked up so much before the game just gets completely blown out. For example, all Fox pregame could talk about today was how much it was a LOCK that the Saints would destroy Carolina at home...I kept thinking to myself, if we've learned ANYTHING about our team this year...we all know 100% that we don't know what team we will get week to week. I've always been somewhat skeptical, and I don't want to think these thoughts, but at some point curiosity gets the best of me. I swear, if ATL goes into GB and blows them out tomorrow, I'm about to seriously start questioning what is going on. Everyone in the universe knows GB should blow them out of Lambeau, but who wants to bet on it now? ATL will beat GB tomorrow. You heard it here first.

Heck I've got two friends that are convinced of that. Larry Brown and his picks for Dallas against the steelers. The Saints as a feel good moral builder after Katrina. The Giants and Patriots after 9/11. You get the idea. Sometimes I'm not sure they are wrong.

 

 

 

My twelve year old cousin just got into football and the saints this year. He kept saying all game that someone must have paid the players and the refs to make the game go the way it did. It just did not make any sense. How could people like graham play so poorly? I could not disagree with him though I played it off.

 

 

 

I agree guys, and I'm far from a conspiracist. But at some point, you have to question what you see. There's absolutely NO possible way for a team to go into Pittsburgh and dominate them like crazy, come home and get BLOWN out of the building against a joke Carolina. Pittsburgh looked like we did today, last week. Just think about it...these media announcers talked the Saints so far up today it was ridiculous. Why would you do that for a 5-7 team?

 

 

 

No way a team can perform last week like they did and perform like this today. I'm sorry, I don't believe in such a dramatic change in one week. Something doesn't add up at all. I even questioned it last week when we won, so I'm not just trying to cope with losing.

 

 

 

Yes its rigged. There is no way anyone is leaving all that money bet on these games just up to chance. Anyone that thinks these games are played on a level playing field just doesnt want to believe it. From NCAA to NFL, MLB, NBA, its all rigged to some degree.

The only way a player could fix a game is blackmail or an incentive to do so. That only TD we scored was so the total would over 50.5. There was no other reason. Keep an eye on the Vegas odds on the spread and over/unders and it will show you its fixed. You have to be delusional to think these games arent rigged. Everything on TV is scripted and sports is no different.

These stories that ESPN and NFL, FOX, CBS talk about before the games are to sway the bettors opinions. NFL doesnt want gambling legal and even says they are not affiliated with it yet all these websites post the Vegas odds. Its all BS. You want to find corruption follow the money. That goes for everything. 

It would be easy to do. The officials hands are already dirty with it. How many times you hear the first 15? plays are scripted, or the announcers say you couldnt script it any better? Al Michaels is famous for this because he always makes some quips about it during the game. Script all your plays and swap playbooks before the game. Easy as pie. 

Yea too many mouths, somebody would speak up about it, yada yada. There is no money in revealing the truth. Just ask Tim Donaghy how much money he made from his book.

They believe in their own legend. Brees is the best qb and Payton is the best coach. So every time they do not win, something is wrong and must be a conspiracy...

My guest as to why they suck is that their offense is dependant on a threat out of the back field that can also pass block. That both opened up for Graham, as the line backers had to account for it, and turned a lot of "noone is open"-dump offs into 7-15 yard gains.

With Sproles gone, this is no longer happening.

lol none of their conspiracies remotely explain what happened today...the NFL could give two shits about the Panthers, or more generally, the NFC south this year. Whats the big payout for the NFL in having the Panthers win?  Who in the national media (especially outside of the sports media) is paying attention? What's the story line that makes rigging this game worthwhile?

 

If say, FSU demolishes Oregon by 50 points, then loses the national championship by 50...there's a story line to that. A lot of people (myself included) want to see FSU lose right now, so maybe FSU fans might have grounds to claim a conspiracy if that scenario played out. But this game? Lol.

 

Saints fans need to grind the phrase "any given Sunday" into their heads about 10 billion times. That's what makes the NFL fun, teams are not consistent week to week...

If anything I would THINK the NFL would want the Saints of all NFCS teams to have won. Their poster boy Brees, Sean Payton and Jimmy Graham (well they may not like Graham these days.)

 

Also use common sense, the announcers were likely hyping you all up because you beat  Pittsburgh decisively, meanwhile we were coming off of a 7 game losing streak.

      Then don't tune in. It's really not a hard concept to understand, if your making your decision based on your own personal needs/feelings as opposed to what is best for the future of the franchise, then it's a you problem, not a Panthers problem. When the season is already lost, every fan should be rooting for the same thing.  The team plays hard until the final whistle of the season and keeps improving as a team and individually, but in the end, we still come up short and lose games, and preferably because the other team beat us, not because we screwed up and found a way to lose due to our own fault. Look at it this way... If we are up 1 or 2 points with 3 seconds left in the game and the other team is lining up for a FG.  Beyond the joy of victory or the disappointment of defeat, what impact does the other team making or missing the FG have on our team the following season? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING Except where we draft and what teams we play due to our finish in the division. The players and coaches on the team would have the exact same level of improvement and learnings about themselves individually and as a team whether the FG is made or missed.  The ONLY difference in the end is the record in the standings and if the win or loss number changes. If you want to argue if making the playoffs to lose in the first round or just missing them is better or worse, that's totally fair and I can at least understand the other side of it.  But in what is already a lost season, if you're not hoping your team plays well but ends up losing, then you're cutting off your nose to spite your face.  You're hoping for a moment of happiness at the detriment of the franchise's future, and in turn, you're basically then happy for a moment to only set yourself up for future further disappointment.

      If we’re eliminated I want the wins more.   The season is already a disappointment and if I’m not pulling for wins why bother to tune in?

      Two things terribly wrong with this post. First is that not one time has myself or anyone else agreeing with me said that the team themselves should think that way or try and lose for positioning.  Never once have I suggested the team should purposefully lose games, ever.  I honestly can't understand why people keep saying this in posts, not one fan has ever said the players should or would purposefully try to lose. And second, is yes, that has happened and it's happened very recently.  The 2020 Bengals were 4-11-1 and then were playing in the SB the very next season.   And while it might have been 2 years later and they didn't quite get to the SB, the 2021 Lions were 3-13-1 and then the 2023 Lions were up 24-7 at halftime of the NFC Championship game. The season between those two? They finished 9-8 and only just missed the playoffs. Which is why I keep trying to compare us to the Lions in where we are at in our re-build.  Throw out Bryce's rookie year with the Reich staff who just didn't work out and he looked god awful.   This past season when we were 5-12 in Canales' 1st season is that 2021 season for the Lions and their 1st season under Campbell.  This year is their 2022 where they grew a ton and Campbell's culture building was clear, where I'm saying we'd likely be better off in the long run if we go 8-9 or 9-8 and just miss out on the playoffs (which is still a significant improvement from last year).  Then our 2026 is their 2024 when we have a chance to be a real contender after adding a few more pieces and our key players having another year of experience under their belts.
