Norwell and Remmer

Numerous reasons, not sure which apply to these guys though:

Off field issues

Poor combine/individual workouts

Bad at practice

Don't stand out on film

undersized

Not from a power Conference

Immaturity

Late Bloomers

Screwing the coach's wife/daughter

Blackmail

What about screwing the coach's son/dad.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Because D.G has an eye for talent. Not many GM's have as much hands on experience

evaluating prospects as this man does.

DG may have an eye for acquiring talent, but that doesn't mean the coaching staff has a talent for putting the best mix of players on the field.  Actually, the Panthers are historically poor at it.   Only reason they are on the field is by default, due to injuries.

With a stud in the draft and help in free agency, I hope they keep these guys around in next year's camp to compete for a spot. Should be interesting.

I really think combines is the place where scouts/coaches/fans overrate or underrate a player, don't know why many are so high about combine performance.

In today's NFL people place too much into a players combine results and potential rather than going on what a player already has and his production on the field. Teams always overlook players in the draft for what ever reasons. Another big reason why players get cut is because of depth at certain positions. We cut plenty of defensive linemen, offensive linemen and running backs in the mid 2000's because we already had great talent to fill those positions.

I still don't get it. It's not like Remmers kept being moved between starter and active backup. He was dropped from multiple practice squads. Eventually you have to get to the point where you're matched up 1-on-1 against a starting DE, and you win or lose. He's winning on the field. Just shocked that no one else ever saw it in practice.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
