At stake: NFC South Title/ Playoffs vs Top 10 draft pick

Draft pick order is vastly over rated and does not guarantee a good prospect. That's about scouting... plenty of great talent to be had in the later portion of round 1... just have to find it.

If you have a good GM then that wont be an issue. And Dave can fuging draft.

Totally agree. I would much rather win the division and at least be in the playoffs regardless of the pick we get instead of thinking that a pick in the top 10 is a desirable consolation prize to getting beat by Atlanta for the division title. Winning the division regardless of the record is a big prize when it comes to building a playoff team by giving them playoff experience with a home game. With the home crowd. Maybe this time we win one and give Cam and the team much needed confidence and momentum for this year and beyond.

Like you said, you can find talent up and down the draft. Look at Benjamin as the example of a top 10 talent chosen in the 20s. Benwikere as a mid round draft pick with second round skills.

Not sure a playoff home loss is worth keeping this coaching crew around.

I think Rivera can be the guy, but he has to improve his offense and ST coordinators.

I think Rivera has already saved his job, but you are right, we need a new OC and STC.  I don't think Shula is completely horrible, but he is very limited, and isn't very good at adapting to his players' strengths/weaknesses, and struggles at situational play calling.  Ok, maybe he is horrible, but I do think he creates a solid gameplan...one that works too, at least as long as everything goes perfectly.

man you guys who honestly would rather have the pick are the biggest pussies.  DG got KB at 28 last year, for the love of all things holy.  If you get in the playoffs anything can happen, if we beat the Falcons sunday i give us a 2% chance to win the super bowl.  but dammit i'll take that 2% chance any day over a higher draft pick.  if you would rather have a pick than the playoffs you have a losers mentality.  plus look at our core! cam, luke, star, kk, norman, benwikere, benjamin, brown, norwell, remmers, boston, ealy, turner, etc (cam is in his fourth year, all of the others are in their third year or younger).  we've built an insane talent base, sure we still need upgrades at some places but we're close.  we have so many good players for the future, we are stacked.  dg has proven to be a tremendous talent evaluator, he's gonna find impact guys with some of his better picks no matter where he's picking.  i can't believe this is actually a debate.

    • Geno fits Canales and fits the O.  It’s why Geno worked in Seattle and not Oakland.  He is a deep ball passer.  NFL is about fit.  Geno would beat Bryce out in 2 weeks in a real camp battle.  Which ain’t Geno praise.  It’s just recognition Geno is a round peg and that is what we are lacking
    • Awesome idea.  Let's make Cincinnati an offer.  I'm 100% sure they are ready to give up on Burrow. That is if you can keep him on the field.  He's been available how many games over that past 3 seasons? Getting Burrow is about as realistic as finding the allusive Rainbow Unicorn.  Do you realize that Young was responsible for 19 of the 40 yards on that final drive? Rico had 21 yards. Both of those completions were for first downs.  That's what game winning drives require.  It doesn't require the QB to throw the ball each and every down.  You do know this? It's clear that you won't give credit where credit is due.   While Bryce isn't your typical "Franchise QB" he's running the gameplan our coaching staff designs.  Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Bryce sucks because you say so.
    • This team is built to win, which I said at the start of the season. I'm not saying we are a super bowl contender, but it's a playoff roster.  The big handcuff is at the QB position.  If Bryce Young cannot start playing at a professional level we are going to continue struggling and stealing wins instead of punching people in the mouth like we should.  The reality is we should be sitting at 2 losses and have blown several teams out, including Green Bay, but having absolutely NOTHING in the passing game is holding us back badly.  Point being, in this current scenario our best hope is that we barely make the playoffs and get absolutely obliterated in the first round.
