There Was This One Play.... Little Help?

Relatively early on in the game, Cam broke from the pocket and ran up the middle for a just a couple yard gain and did one of his patented awkward non-slide falls. The Falcon LB (Bartu?) planted both his knees into Cam and actually had his calf/shin on Cam's helmet. On slow-mo replay, the guy put all of his weight on that leg on the side of Cam's helmet when he got up, his right foot came off the carpet.

Cam got up and had some words with the guyu and looked like he was going after him, but backed off.

Will this be looked at by the league? Possible fine? Or just forgotten about... until next year's first game.

I think that RR can request for the league to take a look, but after that asswhipping, he may just let it ride.

I may be the only one but I'm not so sure suh did it on purpose. He didn't even look back. It was nothing like burfict and his ufc moves.

If he did it accidentally then wouldn't he look back to see what he stepped on? The first one might have been accidental but he knew very well what he was doing the second time.

Suh's step was most certainly on purpose.  Like ooglechi said, the first step could be an accident, but stepping back again, squarely on the ankle (as if the first step allowed him to locate the perfect spot to place the second step) and THEN putting all his weight on that foot to push off of?  That's intentional.  No question.

The falcon's knee could have been an accident.  He didn't look like he was going out of his way to put his knee on Cam's helmet and that leg was the natural one to put weight on to stand up.  I understand Cam's getting angry, it probably didn't feel good getting his head twisted around like that, but it wasn't a clearly intentional attempt to cause injury like what Suh did.

i dont think Suh did it intentionally either... unless he can see out his butthole how could he "target" the calf??

By finding the ankle (not calf) with his first step he knew where the ankle was going to be for the second.  If you were stepping backwards and stepped on something as big as someone's ankle, would you continue to keep stepping in that direction?  Highly unlikely.  The fact that he didn't react says even more it was intentional.  If someone steps on something they don't see they usually react to see what it was they stepped on.  Not so much if they already know what they're stepping on...

How'd he know it was an ankle?  From the feelers in his cleat?  His a$s eye saw it?

It coulda been anything... and he didnt step on the ankle... more like clipped it.

The slow mo makes it look worse than it was.

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
