PFT thinks Atlanta will hire Ryan

Rivera is a better defensive mind then old Rex.

Chill out people.

That's arguable. I wouldn't bet against him but that's just me. They both are very good. Rex is more mad scientist than Rivera but still a very good D mind.

Rivera built the #1 defense in Chicago, then went to San Diego & built the #1 defense again, then came to Carolina & built the #2 defense (#14 all-time). All 3 were built from near scratch. Rivera has also steadily improved as a HC.

Rex started out great as a HC then fell flat on his face once he was making the calls. He's a loudmouth clown & overhyped by ESPN. BAL had a loaded defense when they hired Rex as DC. NYJ had a loaded defense when they hired Rex as HC. He's never built a defense from scratch. ATL has the worst D in the NFL.

Atlanta's defense is trash. The worst roster in the NFL. I'd love to see Rex waste all Atlanta's draft picks & money on defensive guys & completely ignore Atlanta's offense (which only has a QB, 1 WR, & LT long term). Atlanta needs an OL, RB, WR2 (White is old) & TE. It'd take him 2 years to build a good defense from scratch. Now he has a top 10 defense & garbage offense. Again.

Atlanta blew their load on offense when they gave Ryan a huge deal, traded the farm for Julio, & spent a 1st on Matthews. They need to hire an offensive mind to build on their strength.

Hiring Rex would be terrible.

I already understand your position. Many people would disagree so that's why I said it's arguable. I like his personality and think he's a pretty honest guy. Yes he's loud but I respect him for being himself. Again, that's just me.

I think he's a good coach.

We'll see.

overrated. better than smith and maybe better game manager than rivera, but still not the "great" coach some are calling him.

my prediction, he will stabilize things a bit and they will go back to having a winning season or two or three and may be our only real competition for nfcs champs. they might even win it, but they will peak in the first couple years and settle back into mediocrity.

Disagree, he really never proven he is better than both Smith and Rivera. He took over a playoff team and turned them into a 8-8 team.
