Addison, Ealy, Horton -- Do you trust them?

Russell Wilson Thrives when speed rushers get upfield too quickly -- it opens up a lane behind them to run and possibly throw.

The players most guilty of doing this are Horton and especially Addison.  Do you trust them to rush the passer in a way that controls the gaps that wilson can see/run through?

I'll throw Ealy in there because he is young.  Johnson is great at the bull rush from the end position, so I'm not worried about him.

Do you trust our other ends?

Nope. Not sure why the staff is so intent on Horton playing over Alexander. Honestly haven't seen much when he is in there.

Look again.  Especially in run situations.  Don't just look for the flash plays either.  Look at where he is compared to the tackle he is going against.

Hint:  Focus on the line of scrimmage.

If you guys recall, Thomas Davis was drafted for this type of Game.

Before anyone hammers me, i'm not comparing Wilson to Vick (think the Atlanta version, not the philly or nyj one), but there are similarities.  The ability to move around in the pocket and make plays are what both of those guys can you hurt you with.  We drafted Davis to neutralize that threat and he has done a dang good job of it.

Prior to TD's arrival, this franchise had three things that you could count on would happen against our defense (we would get abused by tight ends, beaten by back up QB's, and gashed against Running QB's).  The emergence of Davis as one of the best linebackers in the league has nullified the latter.

I'm sure Rivera is going to play a ton of zone.  He always does, but I honestly hope he lets TD spy Wilson on the medium yardage downs.  Allow the tackles and ends to pressure Wilson, and then when he decides to take off, have TD going after him.  We haven't really had the luxury of doing that because we were very concerned about our corner and safety play and their abilities to matchup one on one on the outside.  That concern has been reduced with the play of Bene and Norman.

Spy Wilson with Davis, let Bene and Norman handle their receivers, let Luke take away the tightend, bring Roman into the box to take away the run and let Boston roam.  I'd love to see some 3rd and 7's or 3rd and 8's with this plan

    • He's handing off play calling duties to fuging Brad Idzik as well so, either that mouth breather can run the playbook and Canales can grow as an all around head coach or it will be a horrible decision and both of them and BY can screw off. I'm fine with that as long as it isn't just another excuse for BY to get another year with another coach worthy of working around his limitations as a qb.
    • Not only for Andersen but the whole team, having not beat the Habs this season before tonite.  Shows them that they aren't jinxed.
    • I understand why people say things like it could be worse in relation to Tepper but it just doesn't jive for me. Are the optics bad? Yes. Would I want her to be the owner of my team? No. But I mean she's only been owner for a year and the Colts overall are a better run organization. As far as I know they've also never had the distinction of having the worst win percentage in all of professional sports either. Tepper has owned this team for 8 years and about the only thing that has been consistent has been the ability to continue to find different ways to achieve new lows. Even now people are saying things are different yada yada but we said these same things at certain points under Rhule Fitterer and Reich. I'm going to wait to see how the rubber meets the road this upcoming season before I make any strong conclusions about anything in relation to the longevity under this franchise going forward.
