I'm lazy so I'll just copy my post from the game thread on my thoughts...

 

Cam is what he is. He's better than his stats because of the ways he helps the running game and runs himself. He is not, however, a top QB. He's a slightly above average/just outside of the top 10 NFL QB. Somewhere around #12. He should improve but he will almost certainly never be a top 5 QB. However, do you really want to gamble with having a guy in the bottom half of the league for x number of years? He may be flawed but he's our guy and the fans love him. My kids love him. I'd much rather give him a contract and see what he can do with an OL and some receivers than take my chances with whatever draft pick or free agent.

Newton did good considering.  His pocket presence seems vastly improved, I don't know if we just don't set up a safety valve or he doesn't look that down but its a great tool to have instead of forcing passes.  Who know how some of the plays developed and he possibly couldn't do that.

That was just a off game by Denver period. Im not saying Cams a bad QB, Im saying Cams not a Elite QB and he need a Great WR to make him look good.

Seattle has a history of making elite QB's look bad, so you're telling me that it's a coincidence that these teams just have "off games" every time they play Seattle?

Cam just needs guys to do their jobs. Cotchery had another crucial drop on 3rd down, Tolbert a crucial drop on 3rd down, Olsen had one go through his hands, Bersin can't fight through press coverage when he's the number one option, Bell gets abused every Sunday and now Saturday too, it's a team effort but no one is making the life of this 25 year old QB any easier. A QB cannot make up for things I just mentioned.

How many balls did Cam Sail?  How many INT did he throw?  You cant blame all those on the WR's Cam doesn't look off the Safety and Seattle new that.  1 year left on his contract and he doesn't deserve a new one.  Either let him play his last year here or trade him. 

 

He sailed ONE pass.  And he was off balance when he threw it, if I recall correctly.  The INT's weren't on him.  The one to Philly is a trust play, nothing different he could do.  He has to trust Philly will at least not let it get picked, not just let the DB have a free shot at the ball.  And I already addressed the second INT.

People saying Cam played poorly have no business talking football.  On both INTs the receiver didn't fight for the pass.  On the pick 6 Dickson squatted and leaned backwards.  Combined with Chancellor making an amazing play on the ball, that's not a bad decision.  That's just a terrible play by the receiver and an amazing play by the DB.  Cam had a good game.  Just wasn't good enough.  Many amazing throws and KB and Olsen were his only reliable targets (as usual).

 

You can blame everyone else all you want but Cam needed to play Elite to beat a great defense and he didn't. Really he never has and its why we lose every time. The truth is we need to find Cam a great WR that will bail him out because he is just not built to carry a team.

Doesn't matter. Sorta overreaction. And those throws were not elite. Tossing the ball up in the air isn't elite. He made a few tight throws, but at times against this weak ass zone who can't make those throws. Kaepernick even looked good against us 

 

But Cam is leaving. And this team will be stuck with Ron Rivera, Mike Shula and Ken Dorsey. Be happy with the QB they get and turn "elite"

Cam has no touch. We need to get recievers that can catch those bullets or start from scratch.

Cam is too talented to start from scratch. Get WR who can handle the missiles

 

On that first drop by Cotchery, that ball was thrown with so much velocity. It made it difficult to catch. He relies so much on his arm strength that when he is late with throws, he jams the ball in there. He needs to calibrate his balls better depending on the situation. I can't believe people are even blaming Dickson for that pick.

I keep saying this, but they don't hear me though lol...

Dickson was sitting on his heels and felling backwards and lazily extended his arms towards the ball against his momentum. He was already sitting on the route, all he had to do was attack the ball and step into it. He sat back and allowed Chancellor to jump the route.

First thing I said about the first INT was that it was Philly's fault. He did not fight for it at all and gave Sherman position... and instead of going straight up or coming back to it, he kept back pedalling and waited for it.

Cam threw way late on that Dickson pick 6...receivers fault my ass...Cam threw it like 3 seconds too late as Dickson was open in and out of his break and even had time to squat and present a perfect target.....then comes the ball well after said break and squat....if that ball is out during his break it's a first down.

Cam got a lot of experience this season.  He will be a much better QB next season.

It's playoff time. You have to take your game to the next level if you want to advance. For two years in a row, he couldn't do it and panthers are going home. Pick 6 aint gonna get done. He showed promise, but promise doesn't win rings.

 

 

As for the Seattle defense excuse? I'm sorry, are we suppose to just wait until they lose half the guys on that defense before we should expect Cam to be able to overcome them? Or that we should hope to get lucky and not have to ever see them in the playoffs again?
