Usually, Right Now, I Would Be Starting A Week Long Depression...

Not wanting to get out of bed, close the Windows, sleep... When our season ends, especially in the playoffs, it puts me in a big funk. My team is done and won't play again for almost 8 months. That sucks...

But amazingly, I don't feel that depression this time. Why? I think it's because despite knowing this wasn't a very talented team, we defied the odds, banded together when it was most important, made the playoffs in successive seasons for the first time ever in the history of our division and franchise. And not only did we make the playoffs, we won a playoff game for the first time in 9 years.

Those are huge accomplishments considering how much we downgraded in the off season. This team was inferior in terms of talent compared to last season, so coming in, I wasn't expecting the playoffs... I expected us to fall apart. In past playoff season's I would be pissed when we lose... but we outperformed my expectations, and I'm happy with what we did. Add a few pieces, namely a LT and WR talent, and this is a perennial contender.

It was an exciting run guys... love ya'll... now let's get better and come back next season and bitch slap Seattle on the way to our championship.

I've said it a few times to others over the last few weeks, but this end to the season was just the beginning of something IMO. We'll be getting some cap relief soon. Another draft for GMan to hopefully find more gems. The 6-7 rookies we found this year, will improve. Cam will be healthy and hopefully improve his mechanics. We can add weapons in the draft/FA (hopefully) for once.

Add in the rest of the division either on the downswing or in limbo, and if this offseason is played right...we could be setting up for one helluva run these next few years.

I was really frosty last night, which is to be expected I guess after a tough loss.

The more I think about things now, I feel really good about the future for our team.  We have some holes, some changes to be made, but we're moving the needle.  We are taking steps in the right direction season to season.  The experience this year for all of our young guys is only going to make them better the next time we're there.

Seattle is really good, and watching the highlights, they earned the crap out of that win.  We know where the bar is set.  Time to pull up or get out.

I think everyone here shares your sentiments.

That's almost the beauty of us being so suck earlier this year, no one expected ANYTHING.

The next thing you know we have a Winner take all playoff game in Atlanta, with the chance to be 2x NFC South Champs for the first time in history.

Go home and beat the Cardinals... and are major underdogs to the defending Champs.  We stayed with them until the end, the score was reflective of 05 but anyone watching this game can tell you the game played out WAY differently.

Last year it really hurt, I thought we had the pieces and momentum to really go all of the way.  The year just seemed magical.

This year once we were in I just wanted us to win one and pray for more, even losing to Ryan Lindley wouldn't have absolutely depressed me.

This is a young team, if RR can start fast and keep his foot on the gas we could be in for an amazing ride.

I feel the same exact way about our team. When we lost my wife asked "are you gonna be ok"? I was like yeah. I can handle getting beat by a better team and giving your all while not quitting. I'll be watching the rest of the playoffs but it's not Panther football so it's not the same.

    • Immediately cast blame? We had been talking about the bad throws to Hunter (the missed TDs and hospital ball) for days leading up to that injury report.   And yeah, the rib injury then becomes something to point out.  and you are getting desperate with this projected extremism.  No one  said you should never throw seams.  I shared with you an article after you scoffed at seams being routes you can get hung out to dry on….and it was the best of the best talking about the dangers of those routes.   And they talked about it because they threw them a lot and there dudes were at risk so the throws really matter.  Because you can hurt your receivers.  we disagree, cool.  I got a pro Bryce former NFL QB calling it a hospital ball and bad throw.  So I got a plus +1 making my argument.  Find a QB that backs your take.
    • You exclusively highlighted Hunter's name on the injury report and then immediately cast blame. I've pointed out that this wasn't the hospital ball you claim it to be while also acknowledging that there could have been another option to target instead of Renfrow. By everything you've expressed here, you don't think seam routes should ever be thrown. I don't know how that helps the already struggling offense, but I do know that it would make it even worse than it already is. Scapegoating never has and never will solve anything. Tell you what: Try not blaming Bryce or casting shade his way for the entire week after Arizona and instead look at the other 21 starters and assess what they're doing (again, without shading Bryce). I'll join you and refrain from exploring what the rest of the team is doing and will focus solely on what Bryce needs to do better. Deal? This is a sincere peace offering to allow us to explore the other's perspective and perhaps be even more informed football fans.
    • TMac PI throw was a TD too.  Bryce just drastically under threw it.  Renfrow and TMac set themselves up to BOTH have great days.   the story of last of no one was open…..isn’t a defense the Bryce Young defenders can use so far this year
