Describe a receiving corps that would best suit Cam

If this is the case, then why not just get rid of Rivera altogether?

I mean I would have fired him in 2013 but it's not happening and the players seem to really fight for the guy.

Also don't think he's incapable of firing Shula but I just don't really see it happening this offseason as much as I'd like it to.

Best case scenario--Shula is canned, they move more to a strictly E-P based offense, and grab a few more weapons.

speed/technique guy to compliment benji's size

an antonio brown, odell beckham jr type.

of course it is a longshot we get a top 10 WR like them but someone in the same vein/mold would be nice.

brown in the slot. olsen down the seam. stew, fozzy, tolbert in the flats. not bad.

We need to get back to being a vertical offense. That means we need a deep threat to go with KB. Shula sucks ass. His style has it's moments but it puts too much pressure on Cam to play mistake free. He needs to be able to play loose and let his arm rip.

Well, until Torrey Smith quit on that last pass of the game  yesterday, I really thought he would be a good "value" speed/young WR to put opposite KB.

Now, I'm of the opinion that Jeremy Maclin would be a great fit.

UFA, but could demand the most $$ on the open market.  Depending on what Gettleman does with the cap, I feel like he owes Newton a sick target at WR.  As long as it's not unreasonable, I'd be ok with making one huge splash like Maclin and let Getts work his magic filling the rest of the roster via the draft and bargain bin.  We really aren't that far off from being a powerhouse team, and there's no OTs in FA worth saving the money for.

    • frank, that ball was very catchable where it hit his hands. I don't even think he bent at waist until after he dropped it. He actually slows his pace to position himself to catch the ball. That will never be a pass I'd blame on the QB.   NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-54-54.mp4
    • https://overthecap.com/position/left-guard   Lewis is the 9th highest paid Left Guard in the league. I bet it was higher when the deal was done two years ago.    https://overthecap.com/position/right-guard Hunt #3 highest Right Guard   There is a tab in the upper left portion of the graphic that allows looking at the different positions.
    • It was a great play, but a better catch than throw. The TE boxes out Moehrig for position. Jumps to catch the ball. Catches it and turns 180 degrees while he's still in the air. Comes down and toe taps to stay in bounds and lunges for the goal post. That first part where he boxes out Moehrig for the ball is huge. If he doesn't do that and simply fades back to catch the ball (this is why Bryce doesn't trust XL), then Moehrig likely undercuts the pass for a break up or INT. Stafford trusts his receivers to make plays for him. Here I slowed it down so you can see it. Great play but amazing catch and score by the TE.  NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-45-32.mp4 NFL+ _ Live Games on mobile, NFL RedZone, NFL Network and More! - Google Chrome 2026-01-15 13-44-37.mp4
