Last night showed why we need Steph Curry, and need to trade Kemba in the next two years

The guys played great last night in coming back against the Spurs.  However, when we were in range to take the lead, we started taking some awful shots, not spreading the ball around.  Kemba in particular was leading that charge, trying to dribble past two or three guys to make a lay up.  It's times like these we don't need to be a ball hog.  Curry would have used his guys to at least get more open looks.  I don't have a problem with Kemba taking his shots, but dag, trying to dribble past two or three defensive guys?  Come on man!  Though I do like him trying to prove himself to be a star.  It makes it better when we do trade him.

Swapping Walker with Curry on this roster does absolutely nothing. Curry will be forcing things just like walker because there isn't another soul on this roster that can score the basketball. How about we swap Lance and or Henderson for Thompson and see what your opinion is like then.

I can't even express how badly the Hornets need a SG who can actually shoot. It has been this way since we got rid of Jackson.

Steph Curry is really good, and having an mvp caliber season. But put him on this roster and I don't think we'd have a significantly better record. PG play isn't our problem.

No, we would go 82-0 with Steph. Can't you see Kemba is killing us with his game winners and ballin' out every single night.

Gosh.

I'm not mad Kemba wants to take his shots.  All I'm saying is he should use his guys to get better looks at the basket.  How are you going to drive into the lane with three trees blocking your path?  That's insane.  Especially when you are down by one point.  We got some guys that have the ability to shoot, not saying they are great.  PJ looked good last night, and even though he hasn't been great, you have to also trust Stephenson to shoot the three ball as well when you are that close.  Too me, Kemba threw the game away there at the end with those bad looks he was getting.

When your two wing guys are some combination of Gerald Henderson, Michael Kidd-Gilchrest, Lance Stephenson, and Hairston (a rookie who has shot extremely poorly) you're not going to get better looks at the basket. I don't care who you trot out at PG. Our problem is our wings

We were playing good ball to get back into the game last night.  My thing is when the score was 86-85, Kemba started taking some pretty dumb looking shots.  Basically trying to run over guys driving into the lane.  We were right on top of them, we could have strategized for better looks at the basket for Kemba.  Instead Kemba kept driving into a crowded lane.  You can beat up on sorry teams such as the Knicks and Magic like that, you ain't going to drive on the defending champs like that.  Especially if you are only 6 feet tall, if that.

In those situations I would like Kemba to pass the ball around and try to move into a better position to take a shot.  What he did last night was nothing short of handing the Spurs the ball each time we were on our side of the court.  I don't believe Steph would have done that.  Yeah he has better shooters on the outside with Golden State, but if Steph was here and in that situation last night against the Spurs, he would have played smarter than Kemba did last night.

LOL Steph would score way more than Kemba in half the shots

Kemba has elevated his game so much the past month.

But he still doesn't have anywhere close to the basketball iq of steph curry. And for that reason, barring injury, Curry will always be the better player.

I don't think anyone here is going to argue otherwise.

The problem is simply replacing Kemba with Curry isn't going to change much because the issue with this team is on the wings. With Golden State Steph can gobble up assets kicking it out to Thompson. Here he would essentially be another Kemba with more size and consistency.

Our cap sheet for his free agent season only has Kembas last year and the last years of PJ and Noah's rookie deals. I think it's more realistic than some think that he comes home.

    • You do, the guy who doesn’t appear to grasp projection.  as the entire board knows, I do in fact, take positions.  The position here I have taken is that Bryce Young is a weak bottom tier starting QB, without NFL starting QB tools, that we must move on from.
    • The OP for one. Asserting that people blamed Bryce for the loss in the title of the thread. That was not the prevailing sentiment at the time this thread was created. Very much a minority thing, I don’t remember but maybe one person if that, putting it on Bryce as the main reason. Troll thread. Did a good job too. Look at the pages.  Someone counting up the draft picks as 10 on offense and 10 on defense or whatever the number was, today or yesterday - of which the offensive ones were heavily 1s and 2s and the defensive picks were heavily day 3 and declaring that proof that the offense wasn’t favored like people claim. The obvious neglect we watched for two years. I spent time refuting that bullshit because someone needed to.  People saying we are bad horrible people and hate poor lil Bryce for no reason, as if it is a personal thing. Constantly.   Along the same lines is people saying we non Bryce fans would rather lose than have him play well and the team wins. That we are mad when the team wins   Point illustrated.
