Patriots Dink and Dunk offense

They have the perfect receivers for the offense they run lately. Edelman is just too quick and precise a route runner to be covered that quickly off the snap. Amendola has been disappointing since joining New England but made some big plays tonight. Gronk is Gronk and Vereen was huge for New England tonight. I can't remember watching a game where Seattle tackled that poorly. They tailored the offense perfectly for an aging QB in Brady. The dink and dunk works with the receivers they have especially because Brady is still accurate, can read a defense effortlessly, and gets the ball out quickly.

Thomas and Sherman didn't tackle very well and Simon was complete trash (almost on Godfrey level) in coverage and tackling. Injuries had something to do with it... What was painful to watch was how well New England's line played against the Seahawks D-line. 1 sack all game and the only guy who got any pressure at all was Bennett. Over 200 of Brady's yards were after the catch, maybe even over 250. Basically, Belichick is a genius. A cheater, but also a genius.

The one sack they got on Brady, was his fault. He was barely even touched the whole game.

Seattle D today was no where near last season, no Bryant, Clemons, Lane, Avril, Thomas with a separated shoulder and Sherman night need tommy john surgery.

They have been running the same offense for god knows how long, yet no one can stop them.

I think there was a stat of Brady being 1-22 on passes longer than 20 yards, its all short passes to wide open receivers, its frustrating to watch.

The last time they were in the Super Bowl they were a big-play offense.  What they actually do is tailor an effective game plan to the defense they're facing, and then they go out and execute it.  Brady is a huge part of that.

It's just smart coaching and personnel decisions. All of their offensive personnel present a match up issue if put in the correct position. When their quick guys are hurt they switch to a ground and pound running game. They have a veteran quarterback that knows the playbook well enough to run different concepts week to week.

They really worked us last year too, we just made enough plays and got a few turnovers.

If you are suggesting the Panthers run the same thing, I can see the merits in that. Who needs a perfect offensive line when the ball is out in under 2 seconds? But the Panthers personnel is currently just mashed together on offense. If you go to the Seattle tape and watch our recievers try to get off the line of scrimmage...even without the press these guys are flat footed in their starting position while Cliff Avril is 3 yards into the backfield.

They never were a big play offense IMO, even when they had Moss alot of Brady passes were dink and dunk, and Moss made Brady look like a good deep ball passer.

Brady averaged 7.1 yards per attempt this year.  In that season he averaged 8.3 yards per attempt.  That's a significant difference.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
