4 Things Greg Hardy Must Do to Remain a Panther

There is zero chance that Hardy gives by $12M and signs a hometown discount....and why would he?

If he is found not guilty, there are teams out there that will sign him to a large contract.  So, he could keep the $12M and sign a good deal with another team.

Greg has shown by his statements in the past that he is all about the money.

He is GONE.

He wouldn't need to give back money AND play for the min. That would be ridiculous. Playing for the min next year or even just a few million would almost ensure he's back here, assuming of course that he's found innocent.

The NFL should give the Panthers their cap space back. The NFL is the one that caved to pressure.

The NFL will be rewarding the Panthers in other ways. We won't be going to London anytime soon. The Panthers logo will be more noticeable in NFL Shop advertising. An extra night game or 2 in primetime next season. An extra compensatory pick.

That could be the tinfoil hat talking, but IMO thinking no backroom deal was cut in the Hardy fiasco is just naïve.

Depends on your job....

many that post on this board likely would have faced worst disipline. Many less

My wife's company would fire her. Mine company likely doesn't...but decent odds exist I would

The worst some of us would have gotten are slashed tires a brick thru a window and maybe a night in jail. .. Since he is a sport celebrity it's a lot different situation with bigger consequences. .. if any of us had been in the situation it wouldn't even had went to a court..

I honestly think that 1,2, and 4 need to happen for it to be an option.  If he plays for league min, he'd essentially be giving money back because lets even say on the low side he'd get 5-6 mil on the open market, thats 4-5 mil essentially given back to the team.  I don't think he will be back, because I see zero chance that he plays for the league min, we shall see though.

What happened to the Panthers as a result of the whirlwind of domestic violence media attention is a tragedy.  Greg Hardy really picked a bad time to have a bad time.

I forgive Hardy for that situation.  While he is proclaiming innocence, he can not publicly admit to feeling sorry for the events or else he hurts his chances of winning his case. I am sure the man is remorseful for his actions whether he is completely at fault or not.  But you will  not hear that side until after the trial.

I want Hardy back.  I want something for that wasted 13 million dollars and if that means getting Hardy at a discount, I will take it.

    • https://nfltraderumors.co/2026-nfl-draft-grades-for-all-32-teams/      Grade: B+ Best Pick: Sam Hecht Biggest Reach (consensus rank): Jackson Kuwatch (NR) It's easy to love what Carolina did. The Panthers traded four times but ended the draft with the same number of selections that they started with and in approximately the same ranges. They did not take a player ahead of the consensus until Kuwatch at No. 227, and it's easy to see how he fell through the cracks playing at Miami of Ohio. He's a high-end athlete, though, and has a chance to develop, which is a fine profile for a seventh-rounder. Freeling and Brazzell also checked the high-end athleticism upside boxes for the Panthers. Carolina let the board come to them in the first round and could have a long-term solution at left tackle, which is a hard position to fill. Brazzell slid because of some maturity concerns as well as the difficulty in projecting receivers from Tennessee's Mickey Mouse offense. At 6-4, 200 pounds and 4.37 in the 40, though, the upside is undeniable. On top of that, the landed three starters on Day 3. Normally that's a high and unrealistic bar, but Hecht and Wheatley were both firmly inside the top 100 on the consensus board and have paths to win starting competitions. Lee fits the scheme well and has some interesting traits as an outside corner. What stopped me from a full-out A grade is not loving the Hunter pick, though he does fill a need to replace DT A'Shawn Robinson. There were prospects at other needs positions I would have been more jazzed about. The Brazzell pick is also an interesting risk for a team that's still in building mode, even coming off an NFC South title. Still, I'm nitpicking
    • I was just a teenager when I joined in 2013. I've loved the many opinions on this forum, even though several are infuriating. I've had several bad takes, myself,  that I've hopefully grown out of over the years.
    • i have not watched many gt games.  is it his accuracy that hurt his draft stock his armstrength or all of the above?
