Most Underrated/ Overrated?

I know everyone talks about how underrated Lavonte David is, but I seriously think the dude has become so "underrated" that he's overrated.

PFF turned him into some sort of folk hero in 2013.  We in the NFCS (most of us anyways) knew he was a good young LBer after his rooke season, yet nobody really even talked about him until PFF started riding his jock.  People who didn't even watch him, just formed their opinion based on whatever PFF said.  That's probably my biggest problem with PFF.

Don't get me wrong, in watching games you can see he's the dude is a legit good player, but he doesn't seem anywhere near the level the "underrated" crowd hype him up to be.  He's a weird case... I've watched him plenty and he never really stands out much at all to me - sometimes none at all, yet by season's end he's racked up stats.  For two supposed top of their position HOF caliber players, McCoy being the other, you'd think the Bucs defense would be better than the dogshit it's been the past few seasons.

An actual underrated player is Thomas Davis - and this is Panthers bias aside... hardly anyone outside of Panther fans even acknowledge his existence, and he's been playing just as good as David the past 3 years IMO.

But anyways,

Overrated:  Larry Fitzgerald

Underrated: Seahawks receiving corps (especially when Golden Tate was still there)

Yeah, but NY Strip is ass. Sirloin is wayyyyy better

Yes, it is, but the question at hand is what is more underrated.

I contend that Sirloin's level of appreciation is pretty even with its level of tastiness.

NY Strip when cooked correctly is delicious, yet it gets no love, as exemplified in your response. Therefore, NY Strip is more underrated.

Fair enough, but Strip has a sort of grainy texture that I'm not a fan of.

Over: The Wilson/ Luck hype.

They're both great young QBs, but comparable to Cam in every way, but he is a pariah by the media...

Under: Lavonte David, Thomas Davis and Tony Romo. Always been a Romo supporter even though I hate the Cowboys. He's too good for that organization. He doesn't crumble any more or less than any other QB in the NFL, in fact he has great 4th Quarter numbers, but because he's a cowgirl, his poo get's blown out of proportion. Manning chokes more in big games.

Lavonte David has played better than TD without question, barely anybody talks about him on TV, never has made any pro bowls and he's one of the best linebackers in the league. That is the definition of underrated. Just because stat websites and forum posters talk about him doesn't mean "he's so underrated, he's overrated"

    • We have taken two TEs in three seasons I think, and Sanders may not pan out or it may have been a sophomore slump, but we took a guy last year that was coming on.  I am not in favor of TE in round one and really don’t consider it a high priority in any round.
    • Trevon Moehrig, Turk Wharton, Bobby Brown, Jaelen Phillips, Devin Lloyd, Nic Scourton Giving him 6 starters in 2 offseasons that cost boat loads of money or a 2nd round pick... Not exactly handing the man scraps. The point of the draft is to make the team better. You want to make this about Bryce. It isn't. It's about improving the team. And if anyone can look at our offense and go "we're good", they are lying to themselves. You give quarterbacks weapons. We SCREAMED for YEARS to give Cam some help. But now because we are trying to do it for Bryce, you all are saying we are coddling him because of his "deficiencies". It's a double-standard because you don't like the guy, clearly. But even if he does fail, guess what? The next guy has help too. Win-win.
    • we have 2 solid/above average (however you want to phrase that) wr's, which is more than half the league at least.  We dont need to be blowing more first round capital just to placate Bryce and his limitations.   We have one absolute stud (probably top 10 wr) in tmac and we have a high floor guy with insane potential if he can stay healthy.  Yeah man we are in better shape than the bulk of the teams in the league.  If you need to add some speed or whatever, sure draft in the mid rounds or wait until tc cuts.  Its monumentally stupid to spend 3 straight firsts on a wr if thats the route they go.  ITs just more and more excuses for Bryce, thats where we are at now.    "How can bryce succeed without a big possession type wr (drafts 2 for him), how is bryce supposed to exceed without a speed guy......."   Its fuging never ending.  Give EE some goddamn help on defense for once
