Acura has a fire sale

So wifey and I walked into Acura dealership today and it was like walking into Black Friday store. Dealership was packed with people... Come to find out that Acura is about to get 2016 models and they need to get rid of 2015 models so they sale everything at cost. Brand new MDX is going for as low as 44k... Dealership was so packed that they could not sale us a car today, we picked a car and Acura reserved it for us and we have to come back next week to finish paperwork.

If you looking to buy a brand new Acura, I suggest you do it now.

Why that?

You can get old model 2012 Acura with 40k miles for $34k or brand new model with 6 miles for 44k... Which one would you pick?

Something a few years older for about $35K less. In all seriousness though, if a new Acura is the onlt option then it does sound like now's the time.

All 3 of my cars made in the late 90's are all paid for. They run great and I pay very little for insurance. I sleep good at night.

I have a 98 jeep Cherokee

2 yes 2 2000 Chrysler Town and Country minivans they run great. The upkeep is real cheap as well.

i have a 96 laredo, I wonder about it sometimes but it hasn't died on me yet.

There is something to be said for driving a disposable vehicles.

The older I get, the less I want to spend on a car and the less I care about what it is.

i just like to spend my money on other things, for example I'm in the middle of planning a month long trip to Europe this summer that is going to run me at least $4000.

And when my tattoo sleeve that I'm finishing in March is complete it will be worth twice what the tax value of my vehicle is by the time I'm done.

Priorities!

i was driving a '92 cutlass ciera until 2013 and it was a tank.  it still runs like a champ but i had a chance at a family friend's lightly used toyota that i couldn't pass up.

i mean yeah it was literally bought off somebody's grandma who exclusively drove it to the grocery store and church but it had easy upkeep and it was dirt cheap to insure.  i liked the 3300 engine too.

lol I'd never spend more than 20k for a new car. No reason to, you don't have to. It's jsut there to get you from point A to B...brand new cars are such a waste of money, 5k miles can give you mind numbing value it baffles me people don't care.

that extra money can go to sooooo many better things.

You can get a Camry/Accord brand new for right under 20k, a Civic/Carolla brand new for 14k, a used Rav4/CR-V with under 20k miles on it for jst under $20k.

And other brands are even cheaper but those are the most reliable. Why would you need anything else/more expensive? Unless you use a truck for your job or have a 6+ person family, you don't need...you just want.

Just silyness to me but hey, this is America.

I would certainly like to able to fit into an Accord, or a Toyota or any other smaller, more efficient sedan. But there just aren't that many vehicles which accommodate 6'6" and a touch over 260lbs.

My wife's Infiniti G is a badass car, but after 30 minutes behind the wheel I'm already uncomfortable...

    • I have said if you out even an average QB into the offense we are averaging 25+ points a game. But that will never happen with Bryce under center.
    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
