Browns blog:

"Flowers projects as 1st-2nd Round... It would be a huge win if the Browns could land him in the 2nd round...Browns RT Mitchell Schwartz is a serviceable player but would be better suited to slide to the left and occupy the guard position if the Browns choose to select Flowers. ... Flowers could be the long term replacement for Joe Thomas at left tackle ... Flowers fits perfectly for the Browns. He shows great quickness and balance getting to the second level when performing run blocking...Flowers is a technical player with good height and length, he looks the part"

Lol at him lasting that long in the 2nd.

Rob Staton, Seahawksdraftblog.com:

"Andrus Peat (T, Stanford) & Ereck Flowers (T, Miami) are the top-two blindside blockers in this class for me. They share similar traits — solid in pass protection, capable of a little technical enhancement. They both lunge occasionally and get intro trouble. But they’re both long with a great punch, they’re both light on their feet. They should both go very early. T.J. Clemmings (T, Pittsburgh) flashes greater upside but has such limited experience at tackle and you never know how that’ll translate. He could be a long-term fit at guard. ... I wouldn’t want to draft Cedric Ogbuehi in round one — even before the injury. Not even to play right tackle. ... Ogbuehi had a rough season. ... he just looked flat out bad at times — giving up nearly double digit sacks."

The opinion of him is anywhere form top ten to second rounder. I'm in the top ten group, @ 20 years long arms and 37 reps..... wished that didn't happen.

He's raw, but has the package to be a very good player......but its going to take some time. I dont believe he's a plug in play stud LT form day one. Hope he's there @ 25, but highly unlikely.

Honestly to me this is great for us how this is playing out, if people are swaying side to side without being completely unimpressed he would be perfect for our spot. If he completely kills it and impresses everyone we wont have a chance at him. I swear some of you want things both ways all the time.

Miami Herald:

Not that NFL scouts would ever forget, but Miami Hurricanes tackle Ereck Flowers is a reminder that you can’t judge a prospect by his worst game.

For Flowers, that game – at least in 2014 – was against the Virginia Cavaliers last November. Miami surrendered four sacks, the Hurricanes got spanked, and the Cavaliers “ate [Flowers’] lunch a little bit,” Mike Mayock said Monday.

Then the NFL Network analyst popped in the Nebraska tape. A completely different story. Flowers was so good against top edge rusher Randy Gregory, the Cornhuskers switched the all-conference defensive end to the other side of the line, Mayock learned.

And when Mayock watched Flowers against Florida State, he saw more of the same.

“I really like the kid,” Mayock said during a conference call with reporters Monday. “He plays at a high level. Worst-case scenario, he’s a right tackle, and perhaps a left tackle down the road.”

Prospects' tape gets evaluated so differently. Mayock said

Virginia was Flowers worst tape, I know many that would say

opposite.

Emmanual Benton @ Manny_PPI Feb 16

Interesting of Mayock to say Ereck Flowers ' worst game was

vs UVA... he handed Eli Harold pretty well. But mentioned

better games - vs FSU

Adam Beasley @ AdamHBeasley Feb 16

Mayock is very high on Ereck Flowers out of UM. Said that

tape against Nebraska and Florida State really popped.

Emmanual Benton @ Manny_PPI Feb 16

Mayock says Miami T Ereck Flowers could potentially

become a pro-bowl right tackle. Maybe a left tackle.

I just watched a video on prospects who did well and did bad in the combine today and they mentioned Flowers. They went on to say flowers got owned against Nebraska and Florida state, which your source says different.

I hate hearing two different opinions, who should I listen too?

    • This is huge may not be a trap game but this plays a major part in what they want to do. If we can get some pressure on Sam we know what he does with pressure coming hit and heavy. Also we may be able to take the top off their defense a backup safety trying to stop TMac or Cooker over the top or forcing him to play the backend should allow us to run the ball somewhat effectively. Either they allow some runs or we take some shots and if Bryce and whoever can connect deep we’ll be in business for another big time win against a top notch opponent. Might not be a trap game but health travel game plans all play a major role in each weeks game plan and this week might be leaving our way. We’re missing some replaceable pieces they’re missing key anchors to the offense and defense major difference time to solidly ourselves at one of the top teams in the nfc tomorrow fellas buckle up.
    • Yes.  If I am not mistaken, we need to sign Coker to the ERFA tender and insist that XL spends his spring and summer at a WR camp and not Coon huntin on his four wheeler.  XL was raw when we picked him--which is why I wanted to go another direction--and we are seeing how raw.  He is basically learning a position.     The Panthers will make their move in 2026 to be an NFL powerhouse behind Bryce.  Bryce needs intelligent WRs who catch the ball.  That said, we need a solid #2 to challenge XL and make cutting him easy, if necessary.  A #2 WR (intented to be a #1 by now) with under 400 yards is embarrassing.   On offense, you have to ask, "Where can we get better?"  In my view, #2 WR, TE (although they are improving) and maybe C (again, if we re-sign Mays, he is trending up and at 26, entering his prime--I say stay with him and find competition later in the draft (not good for C).  OL depth maybe?  In other words, XL is a glaring weak spot.
