Rant Sports' Brian Brennan: Predicting 5 FA signings for Panthers.

This time, I will let the slide show surprise you, but suffice it to say that every single one of these guys except for one, has been in Charlotte before:

The Panthers desperately need depth at safety, and preferably free safety. Conte is still relatively young at 26 and shouldn't cost too much. As much as I want the Panthers to spend more and try to sign someone like Rahim Moore, I think Conte is the more likely pick-up to bolster the position.

Now that's a name I haven't seen on the Huddle before.  Interesting.

Have fun with the rest!

Chris Conte is wreckless in his tackles and would worry me from an availability stand point.

"I'd rather have the experience of playing and, who knows, die 10, 15 years earlier than not be able to play in the NFL and live a long life. It's something I've wanted to do with my life and I wanted to accomplish. And I pretty much set my whole life up to accomplish that goal. So I don't really look toward my life after football because I'll figure things out when I get there and see how I am."

I guess that your concern is warranted.

Everyone crying about Bell.  I don't care for him either, but if we bring him back to back us up, what's to cry about?  Furthermore, I guess that some of you must really hate Hardy if you detest even the idea of bringing him back, as infinitesimal as that is at happening (or, if you like, zero chance of that happening).  As for Ginn, he'd be a good pick-up.  Nicks would be an excellent pick-up with the right contract.  What the hell is wrong with some of you?

    • You don’t even need 1b because Tepper is the only one foolish enough to wheel that deal.    Player wise? Jake’s elbow. JR and Pep getting sideways, no Carruth, Cam’s shoulder, Luke’s concussions, it would be a long list of stuff. You can take it down to certain plays in games. Fox chasing 2 point conversions in the SB would be on my list. RMJr slipping at the end of that same game was not helpful.
    • Ultimately this just amounts to heavy revisionist history. I mean you aren't talking to someone that just popped out the womb a week ago. I was here all throughout the predraft process. The overwhelming majority of the fanbase felt like this was a fine situation and the best situation for a rookie QB to go to compared to Houston for example. The hype for Young and our "rockstar" staff was off the charts. No one could dare speak cautious skepticism of his abilities or they would be neg repped into oblivion. Only after he had one of statistical worst rookie seasons of the last 25 years did we get this narrative now that his rookie season actually shouldn't count. Complete malarkey if you ask me.
    • On the field? Since I guess it qualifies as multiple instances it might not count, but have the damn refs throw some flags on illegal hits to Cam's head in SB50. If that doesn't count, 1A. Cotchery caught it 1B. Kasey keeps that kickoff inbounds. Off the field? 1A. Team is sold to anyone but Tepper 1B. We have the patience not to mortgage the franchise on that Bryce trade. Stroudwpuldve been the better pick but he's not worth it either.
