Do you believe the Winston hype like others on here or no?

I don't think its hype, the kid is a helluva QB.

I do have questions in my mind though, mainly the number of stupid throws he made this year that turned into interceptions at the COLLEGE level. That kind of trend, unless fixed by coaching, doesn't bode well for him at the NFL level.

That's my thing too.  All those picks he had and now hes the best ranked QB since Andrew Luck?  Come on.

THIS!

INT numbers rarely go down from the college level to the NFL level.  If Winston starts as a rookie, he may break the NFL single season INT record.

Plus, I mean...

That's the guy so many Panthers fans seem scared to face in the division?  Really???

Marshall University

QB Rakeem Cato

6' 180 lbs

Marshall's all time leader in passing yardage, and TDs breaking records set by Chad Pennington.

131 TDs tied for 4th all time in FBS history.

Excellent down field vision, and mobility

Slight build so questions about long term health in NFL.

IMHO ideal back up QB who can come in and win a few for the Panthers, while not requiring large scale game plan changes.

6-7 round

WR Tommy Schuler

5'7" 188

4.48 40 yard

92 catches for 1,138 yards and 9 TDs.

Quick twitch tough reciever with good hands. Can return kicks.

Played high school (Miami), and college ball with Cato.

7-UDFA

C Chris Jasperse

6'5" 294

Jasperse started a Marshall-record 53 consecutive games and helped engineer an offensive line that was ranked in the top 12 nationally for scoring and total yards in each of the last three seasons.

While Jasperse was a staple at center for the Herd, expect him to also get looks from NFL teams as a guard.

Born in Greensboro NC.

I agree, he could be a Frank Gore type of back. But, last season he took a step back and often seemed scared to hit the gaps with full force. In all fairness, he played most of the season with a shoulder injury, but the kid can't second guess himself at the next level.

I agree with the issues, he was also kinda out of shape. By kinda I mean really bad. I saw him around campus a few times and he looked a bit like our own Tolbert. And I see him as more of a less fast McCoy but with power.

Wake Forest

Kevin Johnson

Excellent speed and agility, very athletic and over 6 feet tall.  Good cover skills and play making ability.  Played 41 games at Wake and never missed a game due to injury.  And as bad as Wake's offense was, he spent a lot of time on the field.  Needs to improve strength and run support might be a little weak in run coverage.

He has been listed as a potential Panthers pick.
