To dovetail off of J.I's thread. Even after the F.A period is over and the draft, cuts are coming in droves. D.G loves to pick through the aftermath and find 'gems' at a excellent price. The best deals that will help this team are coming in a few months. Free agency is highly overrated. It puts many teams in a money hole that is hard to justify in most cases.

Sorry for the heading typos..Android thumb

Mods please correct if so inclined.

People go through "buyer envy" when their neighbors get new cars.  They don't realize the neighbors are going through "buyers' remorse" because they overspent, have 5-years of payments ahead, etc.

  • We are much better on special teams right now.
  • We have upgraded on offense at LT, a position that is hard to fill (and Oher is phase 1 of a process).
  • We are going to use the draft to find a cheap, shiny #2 WR instead of an overpriced, used one.

Even if we do nothing more, this team is the best in the South, one of the best in the NFC.  Spending spree?  not needed.

Doubt D.G would make that mistake again. His hand was forced last year due to lack of funds. He had to let guys walk and had little choice. He will be much more selective this time. He already signed the core guys that where free agents. He did a good job this time around.

I just don't understand why we wouldn't go after one of the many proven WRs out there to complement Benjamin. I understand not going after one of the elite guys, but guys like Bowe and Johnson are proven and won't be that expensive.

Is there a team in the NFL that is spending as little as we are at WR?

What WR names are you thinking of?

Good Job?? lmao!!! Like signing a track star who has hardly played ANY football in his life? Or maybe a guy who has a movie about him? Great so he has a fugging movie about him. So What!! Should have been called " The Blind in one eye and can't see out the Oher Side"

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
