Hardy to choose between Cowboys and Bucs

People around here are acting like this FA move is like Reggie White going to Green Bay back in the day. And it just doesn't add up.

Hardy had a fair to good run here, when he was on the field. 2014 should have been his breakout year, but he spent it on the couch, collecting paychecks and working on his mix tape. Do you really think he's going to be in football shape or that he's past making dumb decisions? To get their money's worth out of him, they'll have to have round the clock babysitters with him and conditioning coaches waking him up at 5 a.m. each day.

Let him go. Just wish he'd have left that $13 million on the table for us last year.

Lol as if hardy didnt break out in 2012 when he had 11 sacks. 26 sacks in 2 years while Being a top 2 de against the run isnt Breaking out? He is a great player, no need to Sell him short, just because he is a headcase

Some people feel the need to try and downgrade a player when they leave their favorite team..

It happens in all fanbases. .

People around here seem to forget it took us more than half a season to learn to play without him. M

Turning a 6th round pick into a 3rd round pick?

Of course, it's Gettlemagic.

I see what you're going for, but I'm gonna be a debbie downer and say that the Hardy pick and his subsequent development had pretty much nothing to do with Gettleman.

I remember after the big season Hardy had in 2013, there were a number of people questioning his consistency, saying that many of those sacks happened in a few games instead of a span of the season. Which was a valid question, and I wondered myself at the time.

However, when you fast forward to the 2014 season, specifically when we were getting blown out 6 times in a 10 game stretch, you can't help but ask yourself how much of a role his absence played in that. I can't downplay the loss this will be for our D.

The division title and playoff victory kind of took the sting out of how truly awful our defense was at one point last season.

Luckily however, Ealy showed promise as the season progressed, and CJ finally had a chance to get healthy.

We have obvious needs on offense, but I wouldn't be surprised if Gettleman drafts another DE.

It means being afraid of other teams having good players is silly.

I'm glad you like a rainbow view of everything. . But can I be realistic? ?

3 elite players on a team we have to play twice a year.. isn't good for us..

You can be happy seeing Greg twice a year go against Oher or a rookie and i'll be a little worried about that match up.. And we can move on..

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
