Charles Johnson Speaks Truth 4 Realz

You do understand that defensive end is one of the hardest positions to play and it takes years of experience to see what kind of player they will be? And it's a team sport

That's exactly why I said "I don't know if he would step up to that level so soon..." in my previous post, it takes time and our pass rush could have some problem this year.

Our DL was great with Hardy, CJ, Star, KK, Edwan and others but now we dont have Hardy, I don't know if Ealy would step up to that level so soon...

We definitely need him too, a lot people are not realizing how important is for Ealy to develop into a top defensive end.for the future. One of my biggest hopes going into next season is that he has took a big leap in development.

Big Frank is watching.

He is a forgotten man not only in the Huddle, but in the general media. If he stays clean, then he can and will positively make his presence known. I have been thinking about this for two days.

Watch what I am saying.

So Ealy had 4 sacks in the last week of 2014 season?

I have a bad memory.

No, but he did have a sack in each of the final 3 games. He has now accomplished that feat as many times (once) as Hardy has in his career, and Hardy didn't do it until the final 3 games of 2013, his 4th season in the league and third as a full-time starter.

I'm not saying that Kony is as good as Hardy right now, but I do think he's far from maxed out.

This has the potential to offend current Panther DBs.

I wouldn't think so. These guys are all about competition. You think there isn't a bit of good-natured "d-line is better than db!" talk in the locker room?

When I played, it was the Defense vs. the Offense in the locker room.  I think the DBs would probably agree with CJ in this case though.

    • Yeah I think he's just talking continuity it's not really an endorsement. Also I would think CarolinaHuddle of all places would understand using "we" for the team you follow. I can't STAND when dorks do the "Oh so you play for them then? Hurr hurr"
    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
