Dear NC - PLEASE pass this law!

First, I am a Yankee transplant from NJ and I love it here in NC. I am not one of those Yankees that came down here wanting things to change because "That's the way we did it up North" but with that being said....the fact that there is nothing done about people driving slow in the left lane has always been maddening to me!!!

A new bill making its way through the North Carolina Senate would encourage those slow drivers to speed up, or move over.

The bill, sponsored by Senator Jeff Tarte, would fine drivers $200 for driving under the speed limit in the left hand lane.

I almost never see people go under the speed limit in the left lane.

There are, however, people who only go 5 mph over in the left lane, but I don't think the cops are going to be pulling them over anytime soon.

I just hope that if they pass it, they also enforce it if for no other reason than to get public awareness of it. Also, put up some signs that say "Slower Traffic Keep Right".

Maybe then I won't have to pass people on the right and then immediately cut them off as I dart back into the left lane 6 inches from their front bumper as much.

That means that you are one of them and just don't realize it.  :)

I drive route 49 from Mt. Pleasant into Charlotte each day and it is a daily occurrence.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
