As a PSL owner I know I sure as hell am concerned about the teams future in Charlotte. I know if I owned this team I would have packed up and left a long time ago and took the team to a city where they actually apreciate football since they dont apreciate it here in charlotte. This news should have all true panther fans concerned. Granted there is only a handful of us but still we should be concerned.

 Holy sh*t man.

You really prove time and again that you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground.

Seriously, what the hell is with some of you? I have never ever ever heard of the Panthers as a candidate to move anywhere. Why in the world would they? God damn, we have a bad preseason and all of a sudden some of you are running them out of town. I would say look at that list of the 12 or so teams that are facing blackouts and pick one of them to move....hell Jacksonville might have all 8 of their home games blacked out....I would be a little more worried about them or any number of teams, before I worried about us.

I am a PSl owner as well and am not worried about the Panthers moving. First of all they are making money, secondly you just can't move a franchise. The owners have to approve it. Thirdly Richardson won't be here forever but clearly the Panthers are bigger than Richardson alone. His investment group would have a big stake in this as well.

There's no need for regret, it's not on you. The writer of the article is at fault, and from what I've seen it kicked off a crap storm

his exact quote

"Bottom line: The Panthers are staying — for now."

Was a stupid line from a reporter that should know better than making an unfounded open ended statement? It had no relevance, especially the for now quip...

LA is on fire. They are broke. The have no facilities capable of supporting and no money to build any. SD or Jax have had real speculation to go. Seriously...do you think the partnership group that has an intrest in the Panthers being in Charlotte along with city leaders, etc....would ever let them go? But more than that...it is a cash cow.

For all of you that talk about the fan base - we are supporting the team better than most cities. Ever been to SD on a sunny day? You can get tickets in the Sunday paper. Jax - please. Buffaloe has issues - TO was a boost. Dallas - Jerry still can't move all the seats. Atl - Great ownership but a stupid and fickle fan base. Tampa Bay - If the team isn't good fans are missing. I've been given tickets there several times. Miami - Lot's of empty seat colored people. And the list goes on.

It's a very unlikely scenerio. Bottom line is Panthers are here. Jerry and the Panthers confirmed yesterday that they aren't for sale and aren't moving. He is a native. That is how it will stand - in the words of Bradshaw - "If i tell you a chicken dips snuff, look under his wing for the tin".

Go Cats !

I think they should move the team to Carowinds and build a stadium on the border. One side is SC and the other side is NC. Build it right next to the new coaster "The Intimidator". Us South Carolinians will shoot fireworks at the NC side of the stadium. Then we can argue about whose team it is.

This is the only acceptable scenario I can see coming out of the Richardson resignations.

I don't think any of all these teams fanbases are bad... Just economics does this kind of things to people sometime, when the economy starts picking up again, I think you will see all those seats starting to fill up again. on another note the Panthers are not moving, there is just to much upside to them being in Charlotte to move them atm.

    • Comparing a random stat to another rookie QB has nothing to do with the current subject.  Tom Brady had a 6.0 YPA his rookie year.  I hope you're not using one stat to define success of a QB? It's not a problem to want him to do better based on where he was drafted although I still contend it doesn't matter after the fact.  It doesn't matter if we're talking about Cam Newton, Tom Brady, Russel Wilson or any other QB.  It makes little difference once you're in the NFL.  Nobody gets a ring for where they were drafted.   Higher draft picks will get a little more time in most cases as teams want to make sure they've exhausted all avenues before they admit a draft pick can't play.  Other teams might pick them up thinking it wasn't the player but the organization and/or other coaches that caused the player not to succeed.  It's people's expectations that are wrong.  If we could go back and redo all the draft and put guys in the correct draft spot based on how well they played in the NFL, that would be nice.  Then your argument would make some sense.  People assume that where a player was drafted is a statement on how good that player is when the reality is there is a lot more luck than skill in drafting. If Coker turns into a pro bowl receiver and XL becomes a bust nobody cares except fans and the media. What we really should say is it's not too much to expect a player who has started at QB for a team over the last 2 years to be better than he currently shows.   Don't compare 1st round picks.  Compare starting QB's in the NFL.
    • They’re gonna have to go up against a real offense before any kind of judgement can be made of them.  Tlaw looks like damaged goods, Kyler is completely washed, and Penix….well…. they look better compared to last season but that’s what you’d expect with a healthy brown and horn.  I haven’t seen anything that indicates they’ll be considered an overall good defense when the dust has settled. 2002 it is not.
