I got my first speeding ticket in Charlotte...

On the way to The Masters. They were camping out on 77 and I just got pinched. poo happens, I get that.

But what do I need to do next? My dad has said I should just go to the courthouse uptown, take a shot and ask if they'll tear it up because I have a perfect record – never gotten a ticket before and only been pulled over three times – despite having driven for almost 11 years now.

What would you guys do? It's for 14 over, 69 in a 55. I don't think they'd tear one up for 14 over, but is it worth going over there to ask or should I just pay the fuger?

I can tell you what not to do. I've always paid a lawyer. Roughly 300 bucks and it's always been dropped. Well last ticket two years ago I went down town spoke with an ada. Waited in line for an hour. He reduced it from 81 in a 65 to 71 in a 65. I had always heard if it's under 9 it won't hurt your insurance. So I paid my 150 dollar fine and went on my way proud of myself for saving 150 bucks. "Screw a lawyer, that was easy". Fast forward a few months and time for insurance renewal and boom im hit with a three year rate increase because of it!!!!!

Tldr. Pay the money for a lawyer. It's worth it

    • He’s also 21 years old. I don’t know why fiz is so eager to label him a bust
    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
