What ACL?

Running straight ahead like that doesn't put much stress on your ACL, it's the cutting and crap that you'd want to see him doing

Accurate.

When you're running full speed, then try to stop quickly, you're putting strain on your ACL. It generally doesn't have any affect whatsoever on your speed. It does, however, negatively impact your ability to change direction and slow down.

Thread title reminded me of something Art Donovan, Baltimore Colt DT named to the 1950's NFL All Decade Team, said once on ESPN NFL Countdown or Primetime. Someone asked Art about all the torn ACLs so far that year, and was that going on in Art's day?

He growled, " No, when I was playing, we didn't have any cruciates!"

Since it's off-season workouts time, another tidbit about Art is that he made no secret of the fact he hated off-season workouts.

"The only weight I ever lifted was 24 ounces. It was a Schlitz. I always replaced my fluids," Art said.

Damn I miss those kind of colorful characters in the NFL.

As far as im concerned the people making these Gurley threads as though we actually have a slim chance of drafting him might as well be making Amari Cooper threads, no way in hell Gurley falls to us. Id say im 98.5%-99.9% sure.

True,  I was actually watching Davis in drills during OTAs when he fell.  I got scared.  But when I saw him walk off the field (heading back to the stadium) I was relieved because he wasn't even limping.  The next day, I learned more about ACL injuries.

    • Yuck.  I still kind of like Herbert but these playoff performances are rough....
    • I feel like this was the case with River and McDermott defenses as well, we just had the jimmies and the joes to overcome these deficiencies with all pro players at edge and linebacker positions.  Even then, was extremely frustrated in 2015 when we'd let team come back from 20+ pt deficits playing prevent only to barely win at the end.
    • We need to move on soon and just use Bryce as a bridge to find our next guy. I'd like to see how this offense works with Canales hand picking his own guy. Bryce holds this offense back a lot considering you draft the first pick to carry your team and be your best player. We invested heavily for Bryce and need everything to go right just to have him look like a solid game manager sometimes. When he plays well he can look decent or mid, but when he plays bad he looks like a bottom 5 qb in league (backups included). It's not worth it, especially if we need to pay him soon, which means we have to skimp all over the roster. If the defenses don't hand it to us on a silver platter Atlanta style then we struggle big time. Defenses don't respect the offense at all. With Cam we could have the worst offensive talent and I'd still think we had a shot in any game we played. If Bryce is facing a 3rd and 10 I pretty much wave the white flag and don't think we can make that first down.
