It still hurts for me that we didnt have a chance or we dont have plan to draft DGB, I thought he's a troubled kid with stupid decision. However, I read one article of ESPN and begin to even believe the Titans got a huge steal in this draft. This kid seems to be on the right way of collecting things together.

 

With no outlet for his game-day fire, Green-Beckham saved his intensity for practices and the 5:30 a.m. workouts usually reserved for freshmen and scout teamers. He even managed to turn Jerry Schmidt, the Sooners' strength coach since 1999 and a notorious grump, from a skeptic to a believer.

"Going into it, I thought it was going to be a problem," Schmidt said. "But he didn't miss a day and he led all of our younger guys and showed them how to work. Here's a guy who's supposed to be playing in SEC at a high level, and now he's not playing on Saturday, and still working like that. You've got to give him some credit for that."

Green-Beckham went on to be named scout team player of the week six times, turning practices into his own personal challenge against the No. 1 defense.

"I told them, practice is my game," he says. "This is my Saturday."

I am an Oklahoma alum and I've heard the great things about him over the past year.. he's got potential to be a Calvin Johnson.  I would have taken him at #25, but I know DG's hands were tied on that one.

Josh Gordon was a steal too. Greg Hardy was a steal. Eventually the other side of the axe falls.

That's a really good point. People never really change. Guys with proeblems eventually have those same problems again at some point.

Don't know about that. You probably have more positive stories than negative. That's just how the media and people are, focusing on the negative.

On an off note, Greg Hardy's legal issues began in the NFL.

Legal issues, yes. Character concerns have been documented in college. He fell to 6th round due to foot injury and character concerns. He's had plenty of character concerns before his legal issues with us as well. It's been put out there that the Panthers had no intention of resigning him before the domestic violence. They wanted to rent him and try to make it back to the playoffs then let him walk.

Depends on the reason for the problems.

 

If it's "wrong place, wrong time" or "youthful indiscretion" you can get past those things.

 

If it's "bad judgment", "not very bright", "poor decision making" or "addictive behavior", then yeah there's a pretty good chance they're gonna get in trouble again.

 

Those are the guys you avoid.

      The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.

      I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.

      lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
