Bene the corner

Said elsewhere I wouldn't be surprised to see the season begin with Tillman starting on the outside but end with Benwikere starting there.

Basically this. If Tillman plays like his old self he and Norman are clearly better. I'll leave it to Ron and Sean who I trust will make the right call. Sure he was highly rated but so was Norman. Can't really make this speculations

I think a lot of people who said that meant that he would be outside in base and slide in for nickel rather than exclusively the third CB. And considering that AJ, Chase, and Glanton only played in 40% of 2014 defensive snaps the Panthers were in nickel 55-60% of the time.

Nickel is our base in that it is used sowing like 2/3 or more of the snaps.

Bene is not a CB, NB, or DB. Bene is a playmaker. On this current team, his benefits to the team most is at NB. Cause either norman or tillman are a fit there. Playing NB doesn't mean he's better at that than outside CB.

As long as,

1. Shaq is on the field on all 3 downs.

2. Harper is off the field on 3rd downs.

I'm fine.

I don't think Harper did that bad after the changes were made in the secondary and everyone was on the same page.  He only looked bad when DeCoud was still in the mix, imo.

That's a big if, and Bene played pretty dang good on the outside so I'd hardly say Tillman is "clearly better". Peanut from 3-5 years ago was a very good corner, but I think there's a strong possibility that Bene is as good overall as 2015 Tillman, if not better... camp and the preseason will tell the story.

Right. I totally agree it's a big if and we'll have to wait and see how they play. That's why I don't see how Igo is so sure bene is better.
