La'el Collins has begun visits

What is good for Collins?  If the money is going to be the same?

To go to a team on the rise, maybe already in the playoffs.  There he will get the opportunity to raise his stock along with playoff money and look a couple years down the road at his bigger payday.

Going to a team like TB, with a rookie QB, means the success over the first couple of years would be limited and so might his next payday.

Also, having a fellow Tiger to be with him in the trenches and learn the NFL way of doing things from their old days would be a plus

Why La'el Collins is not going to the Buffalo Bills:

"In the 2014 NFL Draft, the Bills went out of their way to bolster the tackle position, drafting Cyrus Kouandjio and Seantrel Henderson. Two very viable youngsters who look to be around for awhile.

On the left side, Cordy Glenn is a staple ... The bookends are there

...

For Buffalo, why not attempt to grab the LSU standout? Imagine a tackle depth chart that features Glenn, Henderson, Kouandjio and Collins.

That’s unfair.

It’s also the reason you have to question Collins heading to Buffalo. From a career standpoint, how does Buffalo make the most sense? If Todd Gurley went un-drafted and had his pick of NFL teams, would he go out of his way to sign with the Green Bay Packers with Eddie Lacy and James Starks penciled into the opening day roster?

...

Buffalo can recruit all they want. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how many steaks Ryan bought Collins at dinner. If the 6’5″ tackles wants to make the best career move, he’ll steer clear of the tackle-rich Bills.

Because he would be a guard there. Just like he would most likely be a guard with Miami

He could certainly beat out Henderson and Koundijo to be a starting tackle in Buffalo.

Also, don't underestimate the allure of Rex. He is an amazing recruiter. Players LOVE him.

Very true I was just saying what I've seen reported about him playing guard.

Best fit for La'el Collins ? Carolina Panthers. Can start Day 1 at

LT, block for Cam, join playoff team & former LSU teammate

Trai Turner

I have to admit, I woke up this morning with a very strong feeling Collins won't be a Panther, but as the day progresses im really starting to feel he will be a Panther more and more, could be wrong.

    • That makes me wonder, how many starting tackles in the NFL and/or elite tackles have short arms? I feel like there’s probably lots of tackles that end up being drafted in later rounds because they had short arms or didn’t have the physical tools.     also why not draft a tackle in the later rounds that we could move to guard or center if they fail, instead of drafting a center? If we draft a center we know they aren’t going to play tackle but if you draft a tackle they could end up playing any of the 3 positions, look at BC for example. It feels like it’s a better decision to draft a tackle in later rounds than a center.
    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
