Stephen Hill and Corey Brown Impress at OTAs

I'm telling everyone right now. Philly will be our #3 WR this season. I've been saying this for the past couple months, after watching tape from last season. Not saying it'll happen, but don't be surprised if he explodes like Victor Cruz did. As much as people here want to call him a JAG (top dawg...), he is a legitimate threat and I think he'll be a longterm WR for us. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he pushes Funchess for the second most snaps at wideout, depending on Funchess' development. I don't anticipate that but it would not surprise me at all. Working on getting video clips set up and I'll post a breakdown hopefully this weekend.

Can you imagine the the impact on this team if Brown improves, and Hill finally comes into his own. No wonder Cam seems to be so enthusiastic.  If all this comes to fruition and KB keeps his production on an upward trajectory, and Funchess has a Benjiman type rookie season. The sky will be the limit for this offense. IS IT SEPTEMBER YET?

Man that's great stuff Igo. The WR group was the one unit on the team I wanted to see most as the battles for each spot (or even how many spots) will be so tight. With the presumed top 2 out of the mix temporarily, the other guys get a chance to shine. And while the possible "arrival" of the new Stephen Hill could be a game changer for this team...the noted infectious enthusiasm of Cam Newton is what makes me think this offense and to some extent this team...is going to have a special year.

Many fans are expressing their excitement for this team this year...but I think the players know something special is afoot as well.

    • too old, too expensive and would take draft capital
    • I saw the list, agree Minshew would be on the list of possible guys as well as the rest of the list.  Mac Jones would probably be the highest possible target though that would require a trade. All that said, heres a darkhorse that I wouldnt be surprised...Carson Wentz.  I know he looked rough his last time out, however he was clearly pretty dangerously injured and kept playing through it.  When he was healthy in Minnesota he looked pretty fricken good.  Last full season he started he threw for 3500, 27td, 7 INT.  He did start the next season for a washington team running a scheme that does not fit him.  I think the things that Canales is looking for his QB to do, that Wentz does well.   Wentz however with his age would not be any kind of long term solution, a decent backup but more like actual competition would be needed to go into the season.
    • This reads as someone trying to suggest changes while treading lightly so Daddy Tepper doesn’t come down too hard on them.  Because flatly, the problem is Bryce.  I don’t think Canales is a perfect coach, but you can see the limitations in what can be called, what is called, and the amount of times Bryce fugs up plays all by himself.  Someone brought up the bootlegs being useless because there is always a free defender rushing - think about how different that play looks with a 6’2”+ QB with a strong arm and mobility.  I can’t count the number of times Bryce has thrown and missed bc he can’t see, it gets deflected, he chucks it away, or his patented run and fumble just on bootlegs and roll outs.  By percentage of those plays per player I have ever watched, Bryce has more negative plays WITHOUT A fuging DOUBT than anyone I have ever watched before.  Like an uncanny ability to fug up the simplest of things.  I have never seen anything like it.  And then, as I mentioned in the other thread, when you string those seemingly one-off plays together, and those stack over the course of a game, poo looks really disjointed.  It is Bryce.  Enough of this nebulous ass “something’s afoot!” bullshit.
