According to Brandt, the perfect QB would have:

- The accuracy of Aaron Rogers (no argument here)

- The toughness of Ben Roethlisberger (I think Cam could be in the argument here, but I'll let Brandt have this one)

- The mental quickness of Peyton Manning (no argument)

- The leadership ability of Tom Brady (no argument, though Brady doesn't get near enough criticism for being the dick that he is)

- The athleticism of Cam Newton (*ding*!)

- The touch of Drew Brees (I agree, Brees looks like the type who likes to touch things)

- The arm of Matthew Stafford (Cam again could be in the argument here, but I won't disagree)

- The running ability of Russell Wilson (Wilson is a good runner, but I wholeheartedly disagree here... Cam has and is breaking records for a QB running the ball, Wilson has/is not)

- The competitiveness of Andrew Luck (a sop category to get the QB Man-God in the conversation, IMO... I don't think Luck is any more "competitive" than any other QB, especially top ones)

I think when he said running ability he actually meant the ability to move in the pocket. Russell slips out of danger so many times because of his movement ability. Not saying Cam doesn't, but that is one area where Russell really stands out.

I think Flacco has better arm strength than Cam and Statpadford.

Whenever I try to bring up that Cam is a better runner than Wilson I get non stop poo. I really hate Raleigh sometimes.

I would say that Wilson is a little better at using his legs to escape rushers because he is a little smaller and and has a quicker first step.  Cam is certainly better when it comes to designed runs, and running through or over defenders.

Speaking of Drew...

“We look at our personnel and we say ‘How can we put our guys in the best positions to succeed according to their strengths?'” Brees said. “We’ve been a top-five rushing offense before. We’ve been able to hurt you down the field with our wideouts, we’ve been able to hurt you underneath with running backs and tight ends, so I feel like we have all those components. And when you have all those, you’re dangerous. You’re hard to defend. There’s just too many things to worry about.”

Drew Brees thinks opposing defenses will have “too many things to think about” this season

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
