True no matter the damage cap was going to be it was, not worth the PR hit.  Smart move (props to y'all now watch Dallas sign him) and btw fug the Saints :D

What's crazy is, before he signed his deal, he was dumb on Twitter every now and then, but nothing like the poo since he signed his deal. It's been a constant barrage of idiocy since he signed his contract. Whats a team to do, ya know?

You can't fix "stoopid" but Dallas will throw out an offer in two seconds to him with a reduced punishment from the league.

They should have clauses in these contracts. The only losers in the Galette/Hardy situations are the Saints/Panthers. The players get paid. They fug up. And the team pays the price. It's ridiculous.

The Panthers will not get a comp pick just watch. Wasted cap, wasted space and Dallas to prosper............I concur 100% this is moronic.

it's the right move for the Saints. glad they did it even though it royally screws their team, not so much with the loss of a useful player, but with the cap penalties that they of all teams did not need. still, guy like that does not deserve to play NFL football. hope he fades into obscurity until his head is in the right place and his actions reflect that.

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
