So Wegher beat out Reaves

I'm assuming Stewart, Fozzy & CAP all make the 53 man roster (kind of a no brainer...), and I'm pretty confident Todman might make it too.

I think Wegher will make the Practice Squad.

I've been thinking for awhile that Reaves might be a casualty as far as the roster.  Assuming no other team grabs him, will he still be eligible for the PS after camp now that we've waived him?

Is it unusual to carry 4 RBs?  Here's how I have the offense shaking out on the 53 man roster at the moment:

OffenseQB2
 TE3
 FB1
 RB4
 C2
 OG3
 OT5
 WR6

Off Total

26

What was Reaves practice squad eligibility situation? I can never keep those rules straight.

What was Reaves practice squad eligibility situation? I can never keep those rules straight.

I've been thinking he is eligible.  He played only 6 games last year (his first year).  I'm not sure how many games he was on the active roster, but I *THINK* he had less than an accrued season [Update: it looks like Reaves was only active for the 6 games he played in, so that should mean he is eligible]

Here is a simplified version of the rules:

A player can be eligible if he does not have an accrued season in the NFL, although the NFL has now approved a maximum of two spots on the PS for players with no more than two accrued seasons. To have an accrued season, you have to be active for at least six regular-season games. A player can also go to the practice squad with an accrued season provided they were on the 45-man active roster for less than nine-regular season games.

    • in starts, he has played better, been more efficient and outproduced Bryce by virtually every statistical metric that exists in 2025.  And has the 2 head to heads over Carolina.  I mean, your jaw should hit the floor.  But not for the reason you are implying.  That freaking stings.  Denying these realities isn't going to help the Panthers build a better team going forward.
    • He is basically having a polar opposite rookie season than Bryce. 4-3 as a starter on a very bad team.  68% for 237 passing yards and 19 rush per game. 9 TDs,  6 TOs in his starts.  and folks acknowledge the surprisingly play because no one thought poo of the random 2nd rounder and he is player better as a rookie thus far than so many prized picks did as a rookies (not just Bryce but a boatload of dudes).   It's only a sour issue to give someone props because he is a Saint and of course the Bryce thing.  It's like giving the TE in Clev props for having near identical production as the chosen one Tyler Warren.  Fannin is having a great rookie season in a very bad spot.
    • This is a very weird take. The reason Shough doesn't deserve it is because he's only started 7 games. He's doing crazy well for a rookie and out playing plenty of vets with a worse roster. He's waaay above league average in a number of categories during his starts and he passes the eye test in game by making plays. Meanwhile Bryce Young had one of the worst rookie seasons of all time. Still TMac deserves it more. It's only been 7 games for Shough so he doesn't deserve any awards. Even if he gets to 9 he doesn't.
