Re-Signing Cole and Edwards

I guess that's one way to look at it. But this really sucks balls big time. I bet his availability is in serious jeopardy moving forward. If he can't make it through a few practices after months of rest how is he supposed to make it through an entire game much less make it through to the postseason? I'll be surprised if the foot ever heals fully with that much weight on it. Foot injuries can be detrimental to basketball careers so I can't imagine trying to play football on a bum foot.

You are already ready to end the guy's career? Overreacting much?

Wow this offseason is no different to any other off season. One of the 330 pound DTs has a stress related injury related to the STRESS that's being put on his ankle as he begins training camp. You'd think this is the first training camp that's ever been run in NFL history from some of the reactions out here.

I don't think it's much of an overreaction to be concerned that this will inhibit him going forward. It's not a coincidence that a surgically repaired bone is hurting on a 300 pound man's foot. This is something that will require months of rest not weeks. See Kevin Durant and Yao Ming.

    • The framing continues to be if you disagree with this top 10 play making….its then somehow spun as denying his improvement or hating. if you take Bryce’s career and exclude his last 2 starts……there really is no objective argument that isn’t a bottom tier starter to date. Is yeah, it’s cherry picking, recency bias and his surprising inability improvement driving it into a bit of silliness.  Literally nothing argued here except the top 10 stuff is overkill.   But it’s also the same time of year when folks can get bashed for saying Frank is a bad hire, Fitterer sucks and should be fired with Rhule, Ben McAdoo was a joke hire for a staff that forced into rejects, Rhule doesn’t know what he is doing and clearly exposed when reporters got into camp, the Sam/Baker comp and not picking one is dumb, and on and on.  Lot of frankly conservative takes are spun as wild hate this time of year.
    • Doing a little digging and it looks like PFF didn't penalize him for the XL drop during that Chiefs game.  I also think the moral of the story is most teams aren't chunking it 20 plus yards for completions multiple times every game.  Hit a couple of those and you can be one of the top "deep" ball passers that week.
    • Of course he needs to put together a full season and there is no reason to suggest he won't. His progress last year was great and unless you think he has already reached his ceiling he should continue to get better. That is why folks are excited for the first time in years. Who knows what will happen but to have a qb who finished the year playing excellently and is only going into his 3rd year, you need to be excited. At least until we have reason to think differently.
