How bout a little love for Oher

Sacks arent the single metric to judge a tackle. Bell gave uo 11 and Joe Thomas gave up like 5. Theres not a ton of space between thise two numbers to go from best to worst. You have to also look at the plays that dont result in a sack and judge their effectiveness. A guy could give up a number on the high end of the scale and still be really effective on the other 500-600 or more snaps. Another thing to consider is that the snap count difference for a tackle can vary in the hundreds between individuals so if course one guy will give up more than another. Loook beyond total sacks allowed.

It could be chalked up to it being preseason and some players to go 100% during this time. I just won't dismiss Ohers performance like that though. He played well and that's what we need. Cam looked so much better in the pocket. Some of his throws were even better now since he didn't have a lineman on his heels. I hope he builds confidence off this performance and carries the momentum into the regular season.

When my wife got pregnant many moons ago,  I rushed to Walmart and got a pregnancy test. It was positive.  We had had such a difficult time getting pregnant,  I went right back to Walmart and got another one.  After the second positive,  I began to breathe and believe a little.  If Oher holds up against Miami,  then I will relax a little bit.

After reading about him constantly getting beat in practice, I did a double check too- on his history.

1st team college All American in '08.

1st round pick in the '09 draft.

Finished 2nd in AP offensive rookie of the year award.

Played both right and left tackle for the Ravens.

After confirming his pedigree and seeing him get a check mark for good play Friday, I'm convinced he really is pregnant a quality OT.
