Likely defensive strategy we'll see all year long

LUUUUUKE

Stack the box, double Olsen, spy Cam, and play man on our receivers. Rinse and repeat

our o line will sadly not give the receivers on our roster the time to get open, especially considering our Shula ran offensive scheme.

For me, this season went from potentially being very exciting in offense, to the same ole same ole which obviously is extremely disheartening.

If I could look into the future, I can see all of us sitting at the edge if our chairs late in the 4th qtrs of every game this year ending up pissed off and emotionally checking out. The sad part is, we all were really looking forward to turning the page, but the fackin wind keeps blowing them backwards.

Im at a loss for words, I hope our young'uns can step up, and I hope our defense is ready to put in a record setting year. We're likely gonna need the favor of the football Gods the rest of the way. If we don't receive it, Battin down the hatches, it could get ugly.

no pie necessary. I'm just venting and can see the writing in the wall. I feel so bad for KB.  Man........o........man

Come on people, sulk for a bit then move on, don't make horrible threads

nothing horrible about the thread bro. That's exactly how every team will play us defensively. No joke.

Did I throw in the towel? No, but realistically speaking, we just went from a high flying high scoring Offense to a hopefully as good as last year offense.

dont twist my words or be disrespectful. I'm not in the mood today, and surely you can't be either

You got this wrong , Hand of to J-Stew  a  3.5 yd  gain , a quick slant to Gin 4 yds ,   PA Cam rolls out of the pocket defender bites he throws it to Olsen for a first down, If defense stays on coverage a quick run to outside for a 1st down by Cam Newton while stepping out of bounce before the defender gets to him.

Rinse Repeat

Spin Cycle  Funch & Ginn for a deep pass or Cam Newton Scramble for 30 yds.

Dryer: Tolbert and Stew Punch it in for TD's.

Comeback for the next laundry day.

Iron the clothes:  Defense creates TO and 3 & outs.

have you seen the practices or first series against buffalo... News flash, we weren't going to be a high flying anything...

but we were gonna make plays with the 7th most targeted player in all the NFL last year....nothing any DB was gonna do to stop that TD ball.

Yeah that's what a real OC might do.  Shula gonna run stew on 1st for 3-4 yards Tolbert on 2nd for 3-4 yards. And then on 3rd and 2or 3 he gonna go deep to cotchery. It's genius They'll never see it coming

cotch will be covered like a blanket by a old slow  safety and he'll be over thrown by 10 yards. Punt!

Serious question. Is it numerically possible to stack, double, and spy?

Out of a back 7 if you man 2 receivers, double Olsen and spy Cam you have 2 left. Is 2 stacking the box?

Actually Im going to use my Madden 16 to control Shula, so the offense will stick to the plan.

since it happened maybe 2 or 3 times the entire season it must mean it will happen every series

    • Every team does it's homework. More so than any fan.  Brooks, had he not been injured, would have been a first round talent.  I have zero problems with the team (Dan Morgan and company) drafting Brooks in the 2nd.  He is a fantastic talent.  As far as risk, this is the NFL.  Any and every player is exposed to the same brutality that the NFL is.  Despite Brooks latest setback, it doesn't cost the team much.  Our running back room is stacked.  Could they have drafted someone else? Sure. No promise that someone else would have made an impact last year.  Or this year.   When it's your job to do what Dan does, I pray you get it all right. Lord knows that there isn't a single GM that gets it all right.
    • Dang, we might not be able to create the same magic from last year!
    • If we were a solid winning organization most of us would have no problems with this selection. We would have had a capable starter in place to allow him to be eased into the rotation. If were told prior to the draft that he had been completely cleared health wise, we "probably" wouldn't have a ton of reservations about this selection. If we had picked this young man on Day 3 of the draft most of us would have no problems with this selection because we wouldn't have had to use draft capital to move up and get him. Unfortunately, none of the above were true 1)  We were a terrible team in 2023 and needed an immediate impact player. 2)  He was hurt near the the end of the 2023 NCAA season. We traded up to get him even though we knew he wasn't medically cleared to play in 2024. 3) When training camp started we were hearing stories that the knee wasn't ready. That alone should have raised some red flags. I personally would have red-shirted him in 2024 in order to have him ready for 2025. We had Chubba as our lead back and other guys to fill the #2 and #3 spots on the depth chart. There was no need to rush Brooks unto the field in 2024. Here's our draft history in the 2nd round between 2021 and 2024 2021 TMJ 2022 No draft choice. We picked Matt Corall in round 3 (#94) as our only Day 2 pick. 2023 Jonathan Mingo 2024 Jonathon Brooks. We have taken 4 skill players on Day 2 of the draft for the past 4 years who have contributed absolutely nothing to the offensive side of the football. 3 are no longer on the team. Two of them are no longer in the NFL. One  could possibly never start a game due to a knee injury. This type of poor drafting is why this team has been so bad for the entire decade.
