Joe P thinks Boykin gets cut

Boykin has been one of the the most sure handed receivers on the Panther's roster every game this preseason, organizations that win consistently like the Patriots seem to make the right personnel decisions at the right time. Here's to no more slow starts to the season, and reshuffling of lineups midseason due to smart evaluations in 2015.

It would be a mistake to cut him at this point.  KB is out, Funch is gimpy, Brown has the yips, and nobody else has exactly stepped up this preseason.  He's nothing special but at this point he's more likely to contribute on the field than somebody like Mayo.  Also if we cut him he will certainly get picked up somewhere unlike Mayo who we can probably PS and call up later if a need develops.

SMH, I think next year this team needs to change its philosphy on signing FAs, before you say "but the good teams dont make big name moves!" Really?! New Englad Revis island and Seattle with the Jimmy Graham trade, want to know what else these two teams have in common, SB appearances.

Tell me with a straight face us signing Torrey Smith wouldnt have looked genius right now? Next year we will be entering the season with 30-40 mill in cap space and thats with Cam locked up, we have to spend and sign a legit WR.

it's joe person..who cares about his projections

cutting boykin and keeping bersin would be a mistake..i think boykin showed out more in preseason and i think boykin has more potential in the long run..the only way bersin can even get open is if the defense is in some kind of zone..seriously, watch bersin when defense plays straight up man coverage..dude can't get any kind of seperation

    • The framing continues to be if you disagree with this top 10 play making….its then somehow spun as denying his improvement or hating. if you take Bryce’s career and exclude his last 2 starts……there really is no objective argument that isn’t a bottom tier starter to date. Is yeah, it’s cherry picking, recency bias and his surprising inability improvement driving it into a bit of silliness.  Literally nothing argued here except the top 10 stuff is overkill.   But it’s also the same time of year when folks can get bashed for saying Frank is a bad hire, Fitterer sucks and should be fired with Rhule, Ben McAdoo was a joke hire for a staff that forced into rejects, Rhule doesn’t know what he is doing and clearly exposed when reporters got into camp, the Sam/Baker comp and not picking one is dumb, and on and on.  Lot of frankly conservative takes are spun as wild hate this time of year.
    • Doing a little digging and it looks like PFF didn't penalize him for the XL drop during that Chiefs game.  I also think the moral of the story is most teams aren't chunking it 20 plus yards for completions multiple times every game.  Hit a couple of those and you can be one of the top "deep" ball passers that week.
    • Of course he needs to put together a full season and there is no reason to suggest he won't. His progress last year was great and unless you think he has already reached his ceiling he should continue to get better. That is why folks are excited for the first time in years. Who knows what will happen but to have a qb who finished the year playing excellently and is only going into his 3rd year, you need to be excited. At least until we have reason to think differently.
